powered up the #switch and re-jinected the #cfw because i wanted to try gyro aiming with #daemonxmachina . i still really dislike the switch as a platform but i enjoy the #crkd nitro deck+ very much.

sometimes i feel like it's an awkward controller but most of the time i feel like it's near perfect. it could use a couple of minor refinements but it's certainly better than my #rogally z1 extreme's control setup.

Ok, ora questa è divertente: Non pensavo che avrei potuto dire “questa sera grande gaming” esattamente poche ore dopo essermi insofferabilmente lamentata di come ohh me misera me tapina stiamo a enormi problemi col gaming ormai… ma, evidentemente, ogni tanto il karma ricompensa anche me. 🙃

Cercando sul web se esistessero app molto particolari per il 3DS di cui a nessun freca, per via di risultati poco pertinenti ho scoperto che ora (da un annetto!) esiste una #patch che toglie i rumori “di sicurezza” (di scatto e inizio/fine registrazione) della #camera Nintendo 3DS. EVVIVA, finalmente!!! 🤯

Disclaimer obbligatorio: cara polizia giapponese, NON si preoccupi; togliere il #rumore non mi serve per fare foto sotto le gonne delle persone in metro senza farmi sentire, ma per altri motivi… anche perché, nel 2024, puntare un #3DS come fotocamera in giro non mi farebbe passare certo inosservata, e francamente gli smartphone fanno comunque foto migliori. 🥱

Purtroppo (ma a ragion veduta) lì in Asia c’è questa legge… ma, #Nintendo merda come sempre, non ha mai reso disattivabile quei suoni fastidiosi sulle console in Europa e America (dove le fotocamere dei dispositivi smart possono legalmente essere silenziose), che si sentono sempre a volume massimo dagli speaker (!), anche a cuffie inserite. 🤮

Provai forse 2 o 3 anni fa a risolvere io il problema, e ci andai molto vicina… avevo capito che avrei potuto nullare i byte del suono dello scatto con il #CFW per renderlo silente… ma, non riuscii a capire dove questo stava (non nella app #fotocamera purtroppo, ma in un componente condiviso del firmware). Quindi ciccia (prima d’ora). 🥲

P.S. per i miei hater: Se non vi basta leggere i ringraziamenti della gente sul thread di T3hFridg3 per credere che non sono l’unica persona a parte lui a cui interessa qualcosa di far stare ZITTA questa fotocamera, sappiate che c’è anche un video tutorial di 4 anni fa per ottenere lo stesso risultato… togliendo via gli speaker dalla console (damn). https://youtube.com/watch?v=8voUL8Kzkp4. 🤗

Later on it dawned on me that I could install custom firmware on the PSP itself and thus play PSP games *exactly* as they were intended to be played... That process was quite a bit more involved than on the PS Vita, but not too crazy.
One interesting discovery was that the PSP's WiFi does not support any non-ancient security protocols, so I had to make an unsecure WiFi network just for the Vita, that only a single device with the Vita's exact MAC address is allowed to join... #psp #cfw

Found a PS3 Slim at a yard sale for $20. Everything works. So excited. I will be installing some custom firmware on it. I have been running CFW on my PSP and 3DS. So this will be my first console mod.

PSA: Do not update your #3DS consoles to 11.17.0.50 at the moment! If you're modded, it's safe to do so, but if you aren't, updates will patch the Bannerbomb3 exploit. This means 3ds.hacks.guide will be unable to help you mod your console until a new method is found.
