Now I have to plan and organize this years hike in #Piedmont
We will start in Alagna and probably finish #hiking in Susa. We will skip a few stages along the way because we don't feel confident enough to complete them.
I've already prepared my #watercolor travelkit. This time I'm using warm and cool primary colors. And I'll complete These with my favorite colors from #UrbanSketching
My fontain pen, a small mixing palette, a ZikZag booklet by Hahnemühle and a water brush are also part of it. -
Day 17 - our last day #hiking in #Piedmont last summer.
We finished our hiking tour in Alagna. We had to catch the bus there on time, so there aren't any drawings of Alagna.
I finished my small folded travel #sketchbook at home. I made it myself by folding #watercolor paper (A3) several times to create a small booklet with 8 pages. (A6) Absolutely perfect and sufficient for my first #UrbanSketching attemps. -
Day 16 #hiking in #Piedmont last summer.
It rained steadily from morning until noon that day. Time to test our rain gear.
Then the sky cleared and we reached Rima and the B&B Taglioferro in beautiful sunshine.After our arrivel we went to a cafe, where we could gradually observe the arrival of other hikers. We chatted with them for a long time, so I didn't get around to drawing #pleinair

I urged us to hike quickly again because of the predicted thunderstorms. And this time the thunderstorm came. Fortunately later than predicted. I had plenty of time to paint #pleinair And after that there was still time for a little nap before dinner in the cosy and warm Rifugio.

Day 13 #hiking in #Piedmont with the destination Rimella/Chiesa. During this leg of our hike, we saw several smal mountain villages.
By the way, the antipasti at Albergo Fontana were as exceptional as described in the hiking guide.
But nobody mentions that you could gain a lot of weight when hiking in Piedmont because the food everywhere is extremely delicious and plentiful.)

The day's destination was Camepplo Monti. A beautiful mountain villagebuilt on a steep slope without a road. There were only wide stairs between the houses.
I found it so impressive that I painted it again at home with #neocolor2 and #watercolorpencil on textured #watercolor paper.

Day 11 #hiking in #Piedmont
We reached Alpe del Lago at midday because I urged us to hike quickly due to the forecast of thunderstorms. It was sunny with a bright blue sky when we arrived in the remote valley. Plenty of time for painting, picking blueberries and bathing in a small mountain stream.
Until evening we had the valley and the well maintained self-catering cabin to ourselves.

Day 9 #Hiking in #Piedmont summer 2025.
The first part of the (guided) hiking tour ended in Pettenasco at lake Orta. It was a short hike, train journay and otherwise a day of relaxation and recreation (and to make the laundry for the next part)
