Шифрование на уровне протокола

Как организовать шифрование на уровне протокола? На самом деле тема непростая и пожалуй (имхо) это как раз та самая тема, где прийти к компромиссу почти никогда не получается. Разве что просто не передавать чувствительные данные вовсе. Я расскажу как шифрование можно организовать на уровне протокола brec и ни в коем случае не буду затрагивать те самые принципиальные решения, влияющие на безопасность (как передавать, куда передавать, отправлять ли, и хранить ли чувствительные данные вовсе). Иными словами нас интересует инструментальная сторона вопроса.

An old Gothic crypt, lost and forgotten in the forest of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The vaulted ceiling is tall and arched with strong ribs in classic Gothic style. Long vines hang down from the ceiling, having worked their way down through the roof. The beautiful red and black floor tiles caught my eye as I walked in!

TIL #PicoCrypt has been archived. That's a shame. It's very solid software that I've recommended to many people as a simple file encryption tool with a GUI.

Sure, there's Cryptomator, VeraCrypt, and some others. But they don't quite capture the simple elegance PicoCrypt did.
