My friend, who is a father of a beautiful young girl, got very sad at these pictures of children's graves I took because they had lambs carved into them. But tbh, like most children died in the days before the McKinley Presidency (one of them in 1892) so kind of surprised I only found two of these.

The cemetery I visit several times a week in my neighborhood isn't far from what they used to call "dogtown" which is an area of the city mostly populated by rail workers during the decades Roanoke was a major railroad hub. So not surprised too see this lovely Norfolk & Western train carved in stone.
When I was young Roanoke remained a big Norfolk Southern hub but their operations have all moved to the coast or Atlanta so while we still get a lot of trains through here we don't have many business operations left and the main rail area towards Downtown is mostly just used as storage for dead cars now, almost eerie and depressing.
