This story is interesting for genealogists. I'm sure others are doing this sort of work elsewhere.

Unfortunately the image included with the story has no Alt Text. It shows Alisha Giroux apparently wiping clean a headstone.

  6. ☠️ Death is the only certainty in life.

It is a concept we often avoid, yet it remains the singular constant for every one of us.

Over the years I have explored and photographed many locations associated with this finality. My visits took me through crematoriums, mortuaries, and chapels of rest. I also frequent old crypts and overgrown graveyards, finding peace and beauty among these resting places.

  11. The Watchers: A Rite Becoming

The trees bent inward, their limbs draped in long, trailing veils, like mourners who had forgotten how to leave. Stone markers rose from the earth in uneven rows, some proud, some sinking, all whispering in a language older than memory.

  16. Half Shadow, Half Hymn

I belong to the night— to the corridors where ghosts grow honest, where they shed the polite lie of absence and breathe again through memory’s ribs. Where ancestors press their mouths to my ear, whispering in bone-language, where the veil hangs in tatters— not a barrier, but a dare. Love lives here. Even after the burial. Even after the last goodbye forgets its own echo. I have felt the universe inhale— a slow, cosmic breath beneath the skin of thought, binary bones […]

  21. The graves of William and Janet Beveridge at Throckrington. Beveridge is well known as the principle designer of the Welfare State, not so well as a Eugenicist. Nice spot to spend eternity, Janet was buried there as it was close to her daughter's home, and William wanted to be buried next to his wife. #Beveridge #Gravestone #Graveyard #Grave #Throckrington #Northumberland #Landscape #Photography

  26. "To Know Him Is to Love Him" is a song written by #PhilSpector, inspired by the words on his father's #gravestone, "To Know Him Was to Love Him". It was first recorded by the only vocal group of which he was a member, #theTeddyBears. The single spent three weeks at No. 1 on the #Billboard Hot 100 #chart in 1958, while reaching No. 2 on the UK's #NewMusicalExpress chart. #PeterAndGordon.

  27. Throw back Thursday: Gravestone (Germany)

Gravestone is a German heavy metal band from Illertissen, Bavaria, originally founded in 1975 as Heizkörper by Rudi Dorner and Mike Schmidt. After brief incarnations as Oregon and later 48 Crash, the group solidified its identity as Gravestone in 1977 under the influence of Berti Majdan. Initially rooted in progressive rock, they transitioned to heavy metal and released five studio albums between 1979 and 1986, including “Victim of Chains” and “Creating a Monster.” Though the band ceased recording after 1990, they reformed in 2019 with their classic 1985 lineup to perform select live shows under the Gravestone name, remaining active without plans for new material.
