Contemporary pop from a South African-born singer-songwriterSven Cilliers is a South African-born artist based in the Netherlands. His music blends contemporary pop with a nostalgic undertone, featuring warm, cinematic productions, strong melodies and personal stories about love, friendship, freedom and the search for a place that feels like home.
From the age of fifteen, Cilliers built up his audience in his own unique way: in the queues outside venues such as Paradiso and the Ziggo Dome. With his so-called ‘lineshows’, he turned waiting concert-goers into his first audience. These spontaneous performances subsequently found their way online to an ever-growing community.
He has since released a series of his own singles and has opened for acts at Paradiso on several occasions. In January, he returns, for the first time with his own headline show.

The ISO Trio is a modern jazz organ trio: With Bertram Haselager (DK) on guitar, Micah Graves (US) on Yamaha organ, and Max Sergeant (NL) on drums. The band is formed through the Dutch jazz scene and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and has since arranged jazz music with various influences such as gospel, hard bop, and modal jazz. Their music is a new take on the old organ trio format. Something they’ve shared among venues such as Bimhuis, De Nieuwe Anita, and Hidden Jazz Club Amsterdam. Their sets are interactive and high energy, built around a high level of musicianship and improvisation.

He has played in venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Tonhalle in Zurich, and has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in Europe and North America. Since 2005, he has also been active as a composer. His works for piano, chamber music and orchestra are regularly performed and have been released on several CDs. Alongside his concert career, he conducts choirs, gives masterclasses and for many years made radio programmes for NPO Radio 4, including Pianistenuur.
Savitri is an ancient story from the Indian Mahabharata, which also contains the Bhagavad Gita. It tells of the triumph of love over death and is still a popular fairy tale in India today. Frederic Voorn has composed twelve piano works inspired by Savitri, and Odilia van Manen will narrate the story during this literary concert.

Arti Shuffles Young Musicians is a collaboration between Arti and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. This concert series gives young, promising musicians the opportunity to gain stage experience and showcase their talent at various venues. Audiences can discover a new generation of musicians in a varied programme filled with surprising performances.
Arti Shuffles Young Musicians: David Urban & Frances Amado
German pianist David Urban and Dutch-American vocalist Frances Amado met during their bachelor’s studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Together, they form a playful duo in which improvisation, song and text take centre stage. They perform original compositions as well as standards from the American Songbook.

The Arti Shuffle is a public programme at the artists’ association Arti et Amicitiae, where visual arts, performance, music, literature, and film come together.
