Если сайт уже отдаёт полные страницы, а клиентская навигация нужна только для части разделов, переписывать всё на фреймворк незачем. Aura Router решает эту задачу, сохраняя HTML исходной точкой: маршруты объявляются как Custom Elements, а ссылки остаются обычными <a href> . Без JavaScript те же URL открываются как обычные страницы. В статье соберём минимальный сайт из двух страниц и проверим прямой заход по URL, клиентскую навигацию и работу ссылок без JavaScript.

A story about my hometown.

I was born and raised in a city called Daejeon in Korea. There's a district called Yuseong, which is famous for its hot springs dating back to the Joseon Dynasty. The photo above shows what Yuseong Hot Springs looked like many years ago.

Yuseong is quite large, and it wasn't originally part of Daejeon. In fact, Yuseong was once larger than Daejeon, before Daejeon began to grow around its railway station. As Daejeon expanded, Yuseong was eventually absorbed into the city in 1914.

But that didn't change the popularity of Yuseong's hot springs. People from Daejeon often took buses all the way to Yuseong just to visit them, and getting there was quite a journey back then. The hot spring district may have been smaller than it is today, but it was already well known, partly because of a story that a king of the Joseon Dynasty was cured of a skin disease after bathing in its waters.

Sadly, the hot spring district has been declining in recent years, and many businesses struggled to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, Yuseong Hot Springs remain an important part of the history of my hometown.

Horrible admission on my part here but...

For a #SPA... The recent versions of #react is actually NOT horrible...

Function-based components, `useState`, `useEffect`, TanStack Query... Actually getting a pretty reasonably structured codebase, and an interactive UI, where state flows properly without a million lines of boilerplate.

Not ready to say that I enjoy it, but I'm definitely positively surprised, after giving React shit for years.

Keep in mind though, that this is browser-only, statically built js. No server-side JS. No Nodejs running on the server.

1) #HTMX and #Hyperscript in the client,
2) #Kotlin in the server, generating all client code dynamically using an HTMX #DSL.
Wih this rig I can easily generate either page-by-page code or an #SPA.
Only a few lines of hand-crafted Javascript needed for special cases.
