  1. Did #PaulMcCartney or #GeargeMartin ever talk about their reaction to finding out the #BeachBoys #PetSounds, that instead it was #TheWreckingCrew, the best of the best LA session musicians, who mostly had a jazz or country background, coming up with their own parts?

Sure Brian Wilson, arranged them and sang on the them, but the contribution of the Wrecking Crew seems unknown or was overlooked by Martin and McCartney.

  2. "Let 'Em In" is a song by #Wings from their 1976 album #WingsAtTheSpeedOfSound. It was written and sung by #PaulMcCartney and reached the top 3 in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. It was a No. 2 hit in the UK; in the US it was a No. 3 pop hit and No. 1 #easyListening hit. In Canada, the song was No. 3 for three weeks on the pop chart and No. 1 for three weeks on the #MOR chart of #RPM magazine.

  3. Spending today transferring a recording of and 's from tape to CD for the Agèd Ps. This means listening to it to make sure it's a good transfer. Once, recording from tape to computer, again to checks that it's free of pops and crackles caused by my neighbours making phone calls and check the levels. And again to verify that it transferred to CD OK.

It has a few decent tunes and moments of actually good music, but ... ugh.

  4. "Don't Talk to Strangers" is a song written and performed by Australian musician #RickSpringfield. It was released as a single in 1982, from the album #SuccessHasntSpoiledMeYet. The song reached number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks, making it his second biggest hit in the US after the number-one hit, "Jessie's Girl". It was kept off the top spot by "Ebony and Ivory" by #PaulMcCartney and #StevieWonder.

  8. On my tiny side blog, I tried my hand at reviewing Sir Paul McCartney's latest album, "The Boys of Dungeon Lane", which came out a couple of weeks ago. No "star rating" or other grading, just my thoughts after a couple of listens.
