It doesn't delete the plugin, but offloads them to another location that you specify (if you like) I moved mine to an external drive. Apple aktualizuje GarageBand dla Maca. Nowa ikona, mniejsze pliki i jasny sygnał dla muzyków
Użytkownicy darmowego programu muzycznego od Apple wreszcie doczekali się aktualizacji.
Wersja oznaczona numerem 10.4.14 przynosi przede wszystkim wyczekiwaną poprawkę wizualną, dostosowującą aplikację do standardów systemu macOS Tahoe. Wprowadzono też kilka przydatnych poprawek pod maską, choć w tle wyraźnie widać, że priorytety giganta z Cupertino leżą obecnie zupełnie gdzie indziej.
Od premiery macOS Tahoe (czyli systemu w wersji 26) minęło już ponad 200 dni. Przypomnijmy, że Apple wymusiło w nim na wszystkich deweloperach stosowanie ikon w kształcie zaokrąglonego prostokąta, znanego z iOS oraz iPadOS. Aplikacje, które nie dostosowały się do nowych wytycznych, otrzymywały nieestetyczne, szare tło wyrównujące kształt. GarageBand przez wiele miesięcy straszył właśnie takim wyglądem, ale najnowsza aktualizacja nareszcie rozwiązuje ten problem, wprowadzając natywną, przeprojektowaną ikonę.
Warto jednak zaznaczyć, że choć ikona jest nowa, sam interfejs aplikacji wciąż opiera się na architekturze projektowej z czasów macOS 15. Zmieniły się za to wymagania sprzętowe – według informacji z sieci, minimalna obsługiwana wersja systemu wzrosła z macOS 14.4 do 15.6.
Co nowego w wersji 10.4.14?
Z oficjalnych notatek wydawniczych opublikowanych przez Apple w App Store dowiadujemy się o kilku konkretnych, technicznych usprawnieniach. Producent skupił się na optymalizacji oraz poprawkach zgłaszanych przez użytkowników błędów:
- Mniejsze pliki: zoptymalizowano proces zapisu, dzięki czemu całkowity rozmiar projektów tworzonych w GarageBand uległ zmniejszeniu.
- Usprawnienia Apple Loops: w przeglądarce pętli próbki dźwiękowe są teraz poprawnie odtwarzane w tonacji zgodnej z aktualnym utworem.
- Zmiany w udostępnianiu: przy eksporcie utworu do mobilnej wersji GarageBand (na iOS), domyślnym miejscem docelowym jest teraz dedykowany folder w iCloud.
- Dostępność: menu wyskakujące „Input” w sekcji Smart Controls obsługuje teraz czytnik ekranu VoiceOver.
- Poprawki błędów: wyeliminowano uciążliwy błąd polegający na przesuwaniu się wirtualnego Pedalboardu przy zmianie rozmiaru okna oraz problem z wklejaniem skopiowanych regionów na zablokowane ścieżki.
Prawdziwa uwaga skupia się na Creator Studio
Mimo aktualizacji trudno nie zauważyć, że darmowy GarageBand zszedł w Apple na dalszy plan. Aplikacja wciąż jest świetnym, darmowym narzędziem na start, ale firma wyraźnie kieruje uwagę profesjonalistów w stronę płatnych rozwiązań. Na początku miesiąca zadebiutowały nowe wersje Logic Pro dla iPada oraz Maca, a głównym koniem pociągowym w ofercie dla muzyków i producentów staje się usługa „Apple Creator Studio”. Pakiet ten, zawierający Logic Pro, dostępny jest w modelu subskrypcyjnym wycenionym na 12,99 dolara miesięcznie lub 129 dolarów rocznie.
Aktualizację GarageBand można już pobrać bezpłatnie z Mac App Store.

Gotta love developers sometimes. Been noticing more and more stuff in Logic failing recently, and the latest update to 12.2 continues the trend. Now it's impossible to change the track icon - right clicking doesn't bring up the option selection and even selecting "Assign Track Icon" in the context menu does nothing. How is it even possible to break something so intrinsic to the code base???

While the home folder on this PC was getting backed up, I dug into more music I've recorded, and discovered a Logic Pro gotcha.
If you laid down a song with a sufficiently old version of Logic Pro, the Mastering plugin will not run. Period. Uh-uh. It was driving me nuts. The solution is to make an empty one with a new template (even the same one), and copy the tracks over. It doesn't seem to want to convert from one version to the next, so this is a manual operation.
