You might ask, “John, why do you post on three separate blogs rather than one exclusively?”
I’ve maintain blogging platforms over the decades to combat platform censorship. Before the COVID Tyranny primarily Blogger would censor inconvenient Islamic facts. Apparently Muslims are offended with facts easily found in the Quran, Hadith, Sira, Sunna, etc. that portrays Islam in all its negative grimy truth. Also apparently negative grimy truth is against the Blogger Community Standards. WordPress would occasionally censor Islamic facts but a bit differently: WordPress would prevent a post critical of Islam from showing up in an Islamic dominated nation – usually Pakistan.
Of course during the COVID tyranny (Biden installed years), Blogger was extremely harsh in censorship of anything anti-Narrative. But TODAY I’m focusing on censoring Islamic negative grimy truth.
On April 25, 2026 I posted, “Islam’s Sexual Predator Problem”. I posted on all three blogs. GUESS which platform censored and removed the post with a Community Guidelines warning?

Yup – Blogger. My discovery of censorship was on April 28. I appealed the decision. Sadly as of April 30 I have not heard a decision. (This post will not be posted until May 1.) I suspect BLOGGER will censor this post as well. Not only because I am complaining about censorship. But also because I’m irritated enough to share so more Islamic negative grimy truth.

- Six months after the ceasefire went into effect in the Gaza Strip, Hamas remains firmly in power. Despite international promises, diplomatic initiatives, and the much-publicized “Board of Peace,” the Iran-backed Islamist group has not disarmed, relinquished control, or moderated its behavior. Instead, it appears to be using the ceasefire as an opportunity to entrench its rule, regroup militarily, and tighten its grip on the Palestinian population.
- The persistence of Hamas rule also raises serious questions about the Trump administration’s policy. Why is Hamas still in power six months after the ceasefire? Why has Trump’s “Board of Peace” failed to achieve its most basic objective: forcing Hamas to hand over its weapons and relinquish control over the Gaza Strip? If anything, the ceasefire has strengthened Hamas, giving it time to rearm, reorganize, and reassert control over the population.
- Why is there insufficient pressure on key mediators such as Egypt and Qatar to hold Hamas accountable? What concrete steps will the Trump Administration take to ensure that Hamas does not remain the de facto ruler of the Gaza Strip?
- Without decisive action, the current approach is legitimizing an Islamist terror regime, Hamas, committed to Israel’s destruction, engaged in the systematic abuse of its own people, and, as the Trump Administration has seen with Iran, no intention whatever of giving up its rule.

While much of the world’s attention remains fixed on Iran and the broader regional conflict, a darker and largely ignored reality is unfolding inside the Gaza Strip: credible and deeply disturbing reports of sexual exploitation, abuse, and coercion carried out under Hamas rule.
New testimonies emerging from the Gaza Strip reveal that Hamas terrorists are systematically sexually exploiting vulnerable Palestinian women — demanding sex in exchange for basic aid, food, and shelter. The accounts describe a predatory system targeting widows, displaced mothers, and divorcees without male breadwinners, with victims threatened into silence by Hamas operatives.
Six months after the ceasefire went into effect in the Gaza Strip, Hamas remains firmly in power. Despite international promises, diplomatic initiatives, and the much-publicized “Board of Peace,” the Iran-backed Islamist group has not disarmed, relinquished control, or moderated its behavior. Instead, it appears to be using the ceasefire as an opportunity to entrench its rule, regroup militarily, and tighten its grip on the Palestinian population.
According to an investigative report in Britain’s Daily Mail, Palestinian women are being sexually abused by Hamas terrorists and forced to have sex in return for food aid. Human rights organizations in the Gaza Strip told the newspaper that up to 60,000 women are vulnerable, with reports also indicating a rise in child marriages and pregnancies.
The report quotes a Gazan man, whose identity was not released for security reasons, describing “how he found a widow displaced in the war being molested inside a tent by ‘a bunch of’ Hamas members and was warned to stay silent”:
“We were contacted by the wife of a friend. She had asked a [Hamas military wing] Qassam Brigades commander to help her, but he took advantage of her. His behavior is disgraceful. We investigated the matter and found her in a tent in the Gharabli area where a bunch of Qassam members were taking advantage of her. We informed the leadership but were told we had to keep silent about it.”
The report added:
“Another Gazan man confirmed that a similar episode had happened with one of his female neighbours, who was blackmailed by ‘one of Hamas’s charity organisations… they wanted her to wh*** herself in exchange for a food parcel, or an aid voucher, or 100 shekels.'”
Noor (not her real name), a divorced mother of four, recounted:
“I am a mother of four children. I am displaced because of the war and I do not belong to a recognised displacement camp, so I did not receive any aid. I went to an Islamic charity that distributes aid to displaced and needy people in Gaza. I was welcomed by a man who looked religious, like a sheikh. He said he would stand by me and help me. I told him I was separated from my husband. He said: ‘Oh, separated? A woman as beautiful as you?'”
She said the man took her phone number under the pretext that he wanted to help her.
“From the beginning, the way he spoke to me felt like harassment. I am much younger than him. I trusted him because he was an older man; I saw him like a father. He is the age of my father, but he harassed me directly. I was afraid, of course. He was pursuing me. I told him I would expose him. He said: ‘You cannot expose me, I am the government here.'”
Noor added, “They exploit women’s need for help. But the women are too scared to speak up.”
Even more disturbing are allegations involving children. A separate report by the Daily Mail tells of minors who have been sexually abused by Hamas-affiliated clerics and then blackmailed into silence. Families, according to testimonies, are threatened with severe consequences, including accusations of collaborating with Israel, if they dare to speak out. In Palestinian society, an accusation of collaboration with Israel can amount to a death sentence.
A nine-year-old Palestinian boy said he was sexually assaulted by a sheikh inside a mosque:
“I went to pray at the mosque that day, it was before the ‘asr prayer, I was studying the Quran,’ says the nine-year-old before naming the Sheikh that was there. We were studying the Qur’an together. He said to me, ‘come with me, I want to give you something nice.’ He took me to the restrooms and undressed me, took off my pants and had his way with me. I started to scream and then I cried.”
The report relates the experiences of other victims:
“[A] ten-year-old described how he used to be the first child to arrive at the mosque until one day a Sheikh asked to follow him upstairs. ‘So I went upstairs, he pulled down my pants and started to do filthy things to me,’ the boy said.
“A 42-year-old father of a third victim who was raped in a Mosque in Khan Younes, recalls how his hysterical wife called him at work to say: ‘Your son is bleeding and has bruises all over his body.'”
These accounts are not isolated. In fact, they point to a broader pattern.
The use of sexual violence by Hamas did not begin in the Gaza Strip during the recent war, which erupted with the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led invasion of Israel. On that day, Hamas terrorists carried out widespread acts of rape and sexual abuse against Israeli girls and women. Israeli hostages – both male and female – who were held by Hamas have since reported sexual harassment and abuse while in captivity.
What is now emerging from the Gaza Strip suggests that such brutality is not only directed outward, against Israelis, but also inward, against Palestinians themselves.
Yet the response from the international community has been conspicuously muted.
Where are the global human rights organizations? Where are the international women’s groups that are usually quick to condemn sexual violence in conflict zones? Why has there been no urgent investigation by the United Nations into Hamas’s crimes against Palestinian women and children? Why has UN Women failed to respond meaningfully to these allegations?
The silence is beyond offensive. One possible explanation is fear – both among local NGOs operating under Hamas rule and among international organizations wary of confronting the Islamist terror group. Another is political bias: a reluctance to highlight abuses that complicate the prevailing narrative that views Israel as the only villain.
Whatever the reason, the failure to address these allegations amounts to a betrayal of the very people these organizations claim to defend.

With silky chocolate-brown fur, pale undersides and a broad, flat face, the Asian Small-clawed Otter has a distinct charm. Their tiny claws don’t extend past their fingers — an adaptation that gives them remarkable dexterity for catching prey. They weigh only 2.7 to 3.5 kg and reach lengths of 73 to 96 cm, making them the smallest otter species in the world.
Highly vocal and playful, these otters live in tight-knit family groups of up to 15. They communicate with at least a dozen vocalisations — chirps, squeals and whistles — and use communal latrines to mark their territories. In the Western Ghats, they are more active at night and prefer rugged hill streams with dense grasses and rocky pools for cover and escape routes.
Threats
Palm oil deforestation and peat swamp destruction
Across Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia and Malaysia, vast areas of peat swamp forests and mangroves — critical habitats for Asian Small-clawed Otters — have been destroyed to make way for palm oil plantations. These plantations drain wetlands, replace diverse ecosystems with monocultures, and leave otters with no access to food or cover. In India, the expansion of palm oil into the Western Ghats under so-called ‘green development’ initiatives is now destroying the rocky hill stream habitats used by the Aonyx cinereus nirnai subspecies. This deforestation not only eliminates their shelter and food sources but also causes soil erosion and alters the hydrology of entire watersheds.
Conversion of forests to palm oil, tea and coffee plantations in the Western Ghats
In southern India, particularly in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, large-scale conversion of native forests to palm oil, tea and coffee plantations is reducing the range of Aonyx cinereus nirnai. These monocultures fragment stream habitats and introduce pesticides that poison aquatic life. Studies have found the otters avoiding plantation areas due to lack of vegetation cover and prey (Raha & Hussain, 2016). As a result, the Western Ghats population is now restricted to narrow, isolated pockets, surrounded by human-altered landscapes that are increasingly inhospitable to them.
Capture for the Illegal pet trade and cruel conditions in pet cafés
The Asian Small-clawed Otter is the most heavily trafficked otter species in Asia’s exotic pet trade. Between 2016 and 2017, over 700 individuals were recorded for sale online in countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam (Gomez & Bouhuys, 2018). Many are poached from the wild as pups, leading to the death of their parents and collapse of social groups. Captive conditions in pet cafés and private homes cause extreme stress and suffering — and demand is rising due to social media content that normalises otter ownership.
Poaching for pelts and traditional use
Poaching continues to be a severe threat in South Asia. In the Western Ghats, otters are hunted for their pelts and body parts, which are used in traditional medicine or sold on the black market. Reports from protected areas in India reveal organised trapping and trade routes extending across state lines (Prakash et al., 2012). These killings often go undocumented due to weak enforcement, and they rapidly deplete already fragile local populations.
Overfishing and prey depletion
In many parts of Asia, otters face competition from humans for aquatic prey. Overfishing in rivers, lakes, and mangroves has drastically reduced populations of crabs, mudskippers, and fish species that form the core of the otter’s diet. Pollution from fish farms and chemical runoff further weakens these food webs, making otter survival harder during dry or lean seasons. In some areas, otters are also deliberately killed by fishers who perceive them as pests competing for the same resources.
Pesticide run-off pollution from agriculture
Agricultural runoff from palm oil, tea and coffee plantations containing pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals has been shown to poison water sources throughout the otter’s range. In the Western Ghats of India and parts of Southeast Asia, such contaminants accumulate in the food chain and affect the physiology of aquatic mammals. Polluted waterways reduce prey availability and can lead to bioaccumulation of toxins in otters, weakening their immune systems and reproductive capacity. This is especially critical in closed or stagnant freshwater systems like rice paddies and irrigation channels, where contamination is concentrated.
Hydropower development and infrastructure fragmentation
Dams and hydroelectric projects throughout the Western Ghats and Southeast Asia have altered river flow, submerged natural habitats, and fragmented otter territories. These developments destroy riverine connectivity, which otters rely on to forage and disperse. For the nirnai subspecies, hill streams once connected across forest corridors are now interrupted by roads, canals, and dams — leading to isolated, unsustainable populations. Infrastructure development often proceeds without proper environmental assessments, disregarding the needs of aquatic species like otters.
Climate change and habitat drying
Shifts in monsoon patterns, increased droughts, and rising temperatures are affecting the wetlands and rivers that Asian Small-clawed Otters depend on. Reduced water flow in dry seasons can strand otter families and eliminate key feeding pools. In the Western Ghats, erratic rainfall is already altering seasonal resource use patterns for A. c. nirnai, increasing their vulnerability to disturbance (Narasimmarajan et al., 2024). Climate stress, combined with other threats, compounds the likelihood of local extinctions.
Geographic Range
Their range stretches across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia (including Borneo, Sumatra, Java), the Philippines (Palawan), China and Taiwan. In India, they are found in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. They are absent from large swathes of their historical range, including the Western Himalayas.
The genetically distinct subspecies Aonyx cinereus nirnai is restricted to the Western Ghats’ Moyar River and surrounding hill streams. This biodiverse stronghold is currently being cleared for palm oil plantations, hydropower projects, and invasive monocultures, putting this population in grave danger.
Diet
Asian Small-clawed Otters are primarily crustacean specialists. Their diet includes crabs, snails, molluscs, fish such as mudskippers and catfish, amphibians, insects, snakes, and even rodents. Scat analysis in Malaysia and Thailand revealed crabs to be the most frequent prey, often making up over 80% of their diet.
In rice fields and mangroves, they may leave molluscs out in the sun to soften the shells before eating — a sign of their intelligence and adaptability. Seasonal changes in water levels influence the availability of prey, leading to subtle shifts in their dietary habits throughout the year.
Mating and Reproduction
These otters are monogamous and breed year-round, with gestation lasting 62–86 days. Litters typically include 2–7 pups. In captivity, they start breeding at around 18 months of age, and may live up to 11 years. Parents build nests together before birth and both contribute to raising the young. Pups begin to open their eyes around five weeks old and start swimming with their mothers at around three months.

How many Asian Small-clawed Otters are left in the wild?
There is no global population estimate, but their numbers are declining throughout their range. In China and Cambodia, they are now almost locally extinct, with only a few scattered sightings since 2006 (Li & Chan, 2017; Heng et al., 2016). Surveys in India confirm drastic reductions in range, especially from west to east, over the past 60 years (Hussain et al., 2011).
What is the lifespan of the Asian ?
In captivity, Asian Small-clawed Otters can live up to 11 years (Crandall, 1964). Their lifespan in the wild is likely shorter due to environmental pressures and poaching.
Why are Asian Small Clawed Otters endangered?
They are threatened by habitat loss from logging, plantations, palm oil, pollution, and construction of dams. In the Western Ghats, the genetically distinct nirnai subspecies is losing habitat to hydropower development and palm oil monocultures, which destroy the narrow, rocky streams they depend on (Narasimmarajan et al., 2024).
Do Asian Small-clawed Otters make good pets?
Absolutely not. Keeping them as pets is cruel and selfish. They are wild animals with complex social and environmental needs. The illegal pet trade is driving them towards extinction, causing immense suffering and ripping family groups apart (Gomez & Bouhuys, 2018). Buying a pet otter and also sharing pet otter content on social media fuels this horrific industry — if you love otters, protect them in the wild! Do not buy them as pets or support this cruel industry!
How is palm oil affecting their survival?
Palm oil plantations have destroyed vast tracts of mangroves, peat swamps, and wetlands in Malaysia, Indonesia, and now India. In the Western Ghats, forests are being cleared for palm oil under the guise of “afforestation” and “reforestation” using non-native species. This directly threatens the survival of A. c. nirnai (Narasimmarajan et al., 2024).

#WordWeavers 2026.04.18 —If your antagonist had to learn a musical instrument, what would they pick and why?
I'm getting caught up in the word "had" here, as in the sense of both forced and required, but allowed to pick.
Rainy Days was born poor to a carpenter having committed the sin of being female in a society that gave women little self-agency. No coin for musical instruments. By her twenties, nobody in her world could require her anything.
Pigeon the Pilferer has the delicacy and manners of a dropped hammer, and is likely as dense. While he might have been required in upper school, nobody, no teacher and certainly no punk, was going to force him against his will. Having a rattle to use, stalking his prey through shadowy alleys like a snake, seems somehow appropriate, but for him it would be a choice
Boss Mead has a suitable middle class education, but was never the sort to excel. His school years are a tabla rasa to me. I can imagine economics forcing him after graduation to make coin and requiring him to learn something simple to create it. Piano-man piano seems his speed. Easy. He's a chill and affable person. His one real talent makes it easy for others to find reasons to make him happy—let's call it charisma for now—and convincing someone to teach him to play piano in a restaurant or a lounge would have been easy for him. Piano-man piano is basically learning how to play the keys and read the music sufficiently to pick out the melody. Then, it's memorization, and it's practice. With an added level of learning how to play "fancy," things like multi-finger chords, rhythm, dynamics, and such—which could have been picked up by listening to his mentor play—Boss Mead could have learned the music easily and learned to reproduce it for hours with feeling, creating a night long ambience and fugue. Yes, I can see Boss Mead starring in a hazy bar, a red whiskey in a crystal glass over the rocks on a coaster, sitting beside a torchere candelabra, playing until late, and making his first contacts for subsequent shady deals. Not canon, yet.
