  1. "I don’t care about #antisemitism.

That does not mean I don’t care about #Jews. I am #shomerShabbat, attend a community #minyan daily, have three #Jewish grandsons (so far …), and a brother whom I helped bring to traditional Jewish practice who lives in #Jerusalem and learns in #kollel.

I care a lot about Jews.

What I am tired of is Jewish political and communal organizations making the fight against antisemitism such a focal point of #American Jewish life.

We have organizations fighting antisemitism, conferences about antisemitism, committees studying antisemitism, webinars teaching us about antisemitism and politicians condemning antisemitism. Then, after something actually happens, the police increase patrols in Jewish neighborhoods, statements are issued, everybody promises that hate has no home here, and we wait for the next incident.

And yet antisemitism seems to be doing just fine.

Maybe we are fighting the wrong battle."

Let’s send the #Hamus to hell first!

    Until then, #Germany can’t and won’t help (anymore). 🤷‍♂️
    It’s not just #Jews & #Israel that have a good #memory!
    We #Germans do, too!

  3. Think about the Nazi and what they did to a “culture of people”. That is stage 4 Culture Cancer. The situation is truly critical.

That case of Culture Cancer left 6 million people dead just because they were “Jews” .

Speaking of Jews, Israel has systematically murdered, starved, and abused many tens of thousands of people in Gaza. Has destroyed hospitals, targeted doctors and journalists, refused to let food in leading to mass starvation, and overall leveled almost the entire Gaza.

    Such a terrible irony….

  4. Ross is wrong.

The right can act with impunity when the left doesn't fight them on it. If the right is able to bring violence its because the gentile left is either too small, weak, and irrelevant to do anything about it or they've decided the victim is undeserving of their support.

    Left/Right same system for Jews.

"When #Jewish leaders speak out these days, it’s often to blast the anti-#Israel actions of one #DemocraticSocialistsofAmerica #politician or another. Given all the attention — and the millions of dollars raised within the Jewish community to help defeat these #candidates — you’d think the greatest existential threat to #American #Jews was coming from the left.

But a new #book by #historian #StevenRoss is here to tell you: You’d be mistaken.

“What you’ve seen seeping in on the far left is more anti-Israel and some #antisemitism,” #Ross told me in a phone interview. “But here’s the thing: the left has never called for death to people, the right has.”

  6. "The day began with a closed street in front of one #synagogue where someone had left a backpack unattended. The #bomb squad was called to examine it.

Earlier in the week, we were in #Vienna, where one of the only #kosher establishments in the city had the word “scum” spray-painted on its wall. Last week, a man entered one of #NewYork’s largest #synagogues and assaulted a congregant and a security guard while yelling #antisemitic slurs.

Are #Jews in #America living like they were in #Europe in the early 20th century? Are the warning signs all there? Our tour guides in Vienna and #Prague swing back and forth between trying to explain the psychology behind the “mob mentality” that overtook their continent and the monstrous details of the mass extermination."

  7. If you're wondering, this is how a public intellectual creates a moral excuse for racial violence against a minority.

Take something that is sometimes (or even often) true for an individual, apply it to the entire group, then blame that group for the violence they will eventually receive.

Cops, rightwingers, and nazis do this against black Americans with crime and Arab or Muslim Americans with terrorism.

Interestingly, Zionism, like terrorism, is defined and thus controlled, by the persecuting group.

"#Farleft #streamer and political #activist #HasanPiker has suggested that pro-#Israel #Jewish #Americans are “making #antisemitism worse” by expressing support for the Jewish State.

“People don’t f*** with Israel any longer,” he said.

“If #Jews in #America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone’s going to come around and take action, not against the State of Israel, mind you, but against American Jews."

  8. Jews were legally considered a separate race in the US through WW2. The 1987 S.C. decision in Shaare Tefila Congregation v. Cobb is based on it.

All of my people's migration documents list their race as Hebrew. This isn't moving forward. I'm not saying it's good or bad. It's just not new.

"The state of #California is poised to become the first in the nation to recognize being #Jewish as an #ethnic and #racial, not just a #religious, identity.

On Aug. 13, a key committee of its state #Senate passed a bill that would add “Jewish” to its long list of recognized identities. This is an important step forward in a longstanding debate about whether that label denotes just a religion or is an #ethnicity or #race. As The #NewYorkTimes observes, it is “a first step toward acknowledging and demystifying the multifaceted nature of Jewish identity.”

But it comes at a dangerous moment for #American #Jews, a moment of rising #antisemitism and anti-Jewish #hatecrimes."

  9. LGBTQ+ Jews...

I've been hearing that LGBTQ+ Jews don't/no longer identify as Queer because Queer is becoming too associated with antisemitic viewpoints.

I'm interested to hear from LGBTQ+ Jews if you agree/are seeing the same?

  10. i already knew that the theory Ashkenazi Jews descend from the Khazar kingdom that converted to Judaism is bunk (they descend from Jews who lived in what's now Italy, who themselves descended from the middle east).
what i didn't know is that the story of a kingdom converting to Judaism may itself be bunk.

  11. RE: mstdn.social/@calmeilles/11713

They have said the same thing about #Lebanon and #Syria. Their goal is to control all of the #Levant. They want an end to all #Christians and all #Muslims, and any #Jews from #Africa or dark skinned countries. They are an ethnostate enforcing apartheid with our money. We need to end support for Israel. Free #Palestine from the river to the sea.

  12. @AlJazeera How ironic this is exactly what the #ThirdReich #Nazis said about the #Jews and anyone else they didn't like

Another example of stage 2-3 Culture Cancer is that of the occupation of West Bank by Israel. They have literally caged in a group of people, like you would do with livestock for consumption.

On top of that some people from the Israeli tribe are forcefully taking the land from the West Bank residents, beating, mocking them, even murdering them.

    An example:

One of the Israeli settlers “hoarding” a Palestinian woman, mocking her as if she is a cattle. And filming all at the same time. Did I mention that he is holding a riffle?

In the video you can see him making the same noises that the Palestinians make to hoard their animals. The Israeli leaders tolerate and even encourage this behavior.I recommend these two documentaries to see the insane cancerous situation between Israel and the West Bank:

    No Other Land - videoneat.com/documentaries/26…
Louis Theroux: The Settlers - videoneat.com/documentaries/26…

These are examples of a stage 2-3 Culture Cancer. It has spread significantly and it is hard to tackle. Thus it has a great influence over a population of people who can turn violent against each other.

  14. "The #October7 massacre fundamentally changed the relationship between #American #Jews and #Jewish #media, driving demand for hard #news while widening distrust of mainstream outlets, a leading Jewish media executive told i24NEWS.

#AmiEden, president of the American Jewish Press Association and CEO and executive editor of 70 Faces Media, said Jewish outlets had already been moving beyond traditional news coverage in the years before October 7, increasingly seeking to help audiences connect with their Jewish identity.

What changed after the attack, he said, was that the news itself became inseparable from that identity.

“It’s not only that people became hungrier for news,” Eden told American View. “The reason they became hungrier is because what was happening in the news was impacting their Jewish identity.”

  15. I truly wish we did control the fucking media. Wtf?

"The #BBC has rejected complaints over the use of an #antisemitic phrase on one of its programs, arguing that the reference did not explicitly mention #Jews and therefore did not constitute #antisemitism.

The controversy arose during an episode of the BBC’s Gardeners’ Question Time radio program, when one panelist referred to another as “moneybags Rothschild.”

The phrase is a reference to the #Rothschild family, the prominent #Jewish banking dynasty whose wealth and Jewish identity have made it a longstanding target of #antisemitic #conspiracy theories.

A viewer subsequently filed a complaint with the BBC’s Editorial Complaints Unit (#ECU), arguing that the reference was antisemitic and inappropriate.

However, the ECU rejected the complaint, reportedly reasoning that the comment did not specifically reference the Rothschild family’s Jewish identity and therefore did not “perpetuate #prejudice.” :100_yikes:

  16. My pre-ordered copy is supposed to arrive September 2nd. Can't wait.

"Dr. #DaraHorn didn’t want to write this #book. She wanted to write more acclaimed #novels. But after she published her bestselling #essay collection People Love Dead #Jews, readers kept cornering her with their own horror stories of #antisemitism and one unfair question: can you help? She became the antisemitism Lorax.

So she wrote the answer, and gave it the humdrum, unprovocative title: The Final Solution to the #Jewish Question. It’s out September 1.

Dara joins the #podcast to talk about why antisemitism isn’t a bigotry but a lie told by people who want power (”Jews are destroying what you value the most”); how a 1940s #American Jewish strategy to be seen as a #religion rather than a people left today’s Jews defenseless; why American #Holocaust education “eliminates pattern recognition” and outsources everything else people should learn about Jews -- about living Jews, not just dead ones..."

  17. "Last week’s horrendous attack at Central #Synagogue underscores the scourge of #antisemitism that has shaken #American #Jews to their core. In an era of rising violence, American Jews and non-Jews seeking values-based leadership would do well to look to the leadership of the #Jewish Council for Public Affairs (#JCPA), founded 80 years ago to engage communities on issues of common concern and shared values (especially #civilrights, justice, and equality).

#JenniferRubin: “JCPA works ‘to build a just and inclusive #democracy.’ Why is that critical, and is #America at risk when one party undermines #democratic values?”

#AmySpitalnick: “Jewish safety and inclusive, pluralistic democracy are inextricably linked — simply put, there is no true democracy without real Jewish safety, and there is no real Jewish safety without ensuring a truly inclusive, pluralistic democracy."

  18. The Central Synagogue attack had no clear connection to Mamdani. He’s still being blamed.
The suspect’s social media posts show a history of supporting Israel and criticizing Mayor #ZohranMamdani

    [#Jewish publication from #USA]

“The attack at Manhattan’s Central Synagogue is a direct result of Mayor #Mamdani’s sustained campaign of incitement,” Ofir Akunis, consul general of #Israel in #NewYork, posted to X Saturday morning. “I warned that words would turn into actions, and that is exactly what is happening.”

The details that have emerged about Montes complicate that conclusion. A #Forward analysis of the attacker’s social media and statements from his family paint a very different picture of Montes: a pro-Israel #Republican who wanted to convert to Judaism.

  19. America hates Jewish, Muslim, and black Americans. Fact.

"#FBI data released this week showed that #Jews were targeted in 1,528 hate crimes in the #US in 2025, far more than any other religious group.

The figure amounted to 63% of the 2,408 religion-based #hatecrimes in the US last year.

Overall hate crimes, and those targeting Jews, decreased last year compared to 2024, although Jews remain disproportionately targeted.

The next most-targeted religious group was #Muslims, who were the victims of 205 hate crime incidents, meaning Jews were attacked seven times more often.

Overall, #Blackpeople were targeted the most, with 2,811 hate crimes against them, the data showed. The US Black population is around six times larger than the Jewish population.

Jews were targeted in 14% of all hate crimes in the US last year, despite making up around two percent of the population."

  20. We make this mistake every election. Let me explain to you why I am now making this mistake. Lol. 🙄

"Every #election year, somebody tells us that the #Jewish #vote could decide the election.

    I have usually been skeptical.

#American #Jews have a tendency, perhaps an understandable one, to overestimate our centrality to American #political life. We are, after all, only a little more than 2 percent of the #American population. Millions of Americans are not sitting around waiting to see how the Jews of #Westchester, #BocaRaton or suburban #Detroit vote before deciding the fate of the Republic.

But 2026 may be different. Not because there are suddenly more Jews.

Because American #politics has become so closely divided that a relatively small group of voters can exercise influence far beyond its size if three things are true: they vote in large numbers, they are geographically concentrated, and they live in places where elections are close."

  21. Pretty interesting.

"Three out of four #Jewish adults in the #US say they incorporate #Judaism into their daily lives on a regular basis, a new report from #SenseWorldwide and released by the #JimJosephFoundation revealed this month.

Dubbed #ProjectPrism, this study examined how young Jewish- #American adults live, especially of those who don't participate in Jewish communal life, as well as the experiences, factors, and key drivers that shape their decisions.

The study involved more than 2,000 #Jews between the ages of 22 and 30, across a spectrum of backgrounds, religious identities, and life experiences."

    jpost.com/diaspora/article-905

  22. "The #Hellenization of #Judea and the #assimilation of #American #Jews obviously have radically different etiologies. One occurred in the context of #Hellenistic #imperialism; the other largely through voluntary #integration into a liberal #democracy that offered Jews unprecedented security and opportunity. Yet their morphology may contain a recognizable similarity: cultural encounter, selective assimilation, reinterpretation of #Jewish identity, competing visions of #Jewishness, and eventually intra-Jewish conflict.

The point is not that modern anti-#Zionist Jews are simply modern #Hellenists. Rather, the Hellenistic crisis provides a historical model for understanding how assimilation can eventually turn a disagreement about how Jews should relate to the surrounding world into a conflict over what #Judaism itself means."

  23. I'll vote for the most "Anti-Zionist" Politicians out there. They will be the ones that:

    - Vote to fund mandatory security measures for Jewish institutions
    - Vote to stop antisemitic demonstrations that claim to be anti-Israel but are really antisemitic
    - Vote to promote Jewish organizations and institutions, as well as vote for the integration of Jewish identity in the community
    - Vote to fund campaigns for Jewish tolerance and understanding, including grants for Jewish artists, promote Jewish representation at other art festivals
    - Denounce and when possible prosecute anti-Jewish discrimination, including by de-funding or limiting actions by organizations that ban Jewish symbols or have a history of physical or psychological violence against Jews
    - Promote immigration from Israel to their country/local area with a clear path to citizenship

This is real Anti-Zionism and I've never seen it in real life.
