The Spider-woman 50th anniversary special is kinda bad, and I’d be a little disappointed if it weren’t. The original series presented a character that was difficult to relate to - a deliberate inversion of Spider-man, making her a sort of spider that tried to be human. Top tier artists sometimes worked on the title but rarely turned in their best work. In this one Jess struggles with her inhuman traits again: pheromones that repel people, an uncontrollable, grotesque transformation. #comicbooks
