Yesterday I had an appointment at the vets to get Mona and Kuro their check up and shots. A couple of hours before that, Kuro hid under a cupboard and started to youwl in pain. He had to stay at the vets for a small procedure and I picked him up this #Caturday morning. He is fine now.

When I first moved into my current home many years ago, a black cat "came with the house". Not sure if the previous owners left her behind, or if she just showed up right when I moved in. She was friendly enough, but definitely NOT an indoor cat. I named her Bastet and provided food and water for her, and she protected my front courtyard for 16 years before she disappeared.
When I'm out gardening in the courtyard, I miss having her there to supervise me.
