#RIP #PeterDavid was a kind man by nearly all accounts & kindly spent a few minutes to speak to me and my young artist child on occasion in a busy line of folks he zeroed in on each of us & addressed us as he did every weirdly dressed nerd who crossed his path, as a human whom he could learn from or about or entertain.
My favorite #StarTrek exist in his novels.
My fave comics bear his name.

Peter David, the Eisner and GLAAD Media Award-winning comics writer best known for his work on "The Incredible Hulk," has died at age 68. David also wrote for characters such as Captain Marvel and Aquaman, worked on "Star Trek" comics and wrote on the TV shows "Babylon 5 and "Space Cases." He had been ill for a number of years, with a GoFundMe having been launched in 2022 and relaunched on May 20 on behalf of his wife, Kathleen. "Medicaid, which had been taking care of his Long Term Disability, has just dropped him. As a result, medical care and living expenses are mounting beyond current control," the description said. Käsikirjoittaja ja kirjailija Peter David kuoli 68-vuotiaana. En edes tiennyt että oli kipeä. Valtava määrä tarinoita joita julkaistiin laajasti myös Suomessa (mm. Hämähäkkimies 2099, Hulk).
Ihmettelin kun tämän viimeisimmät olivat aika ponnettomia, mutta ilmeisesti ollut lähes jatkuvasti sairaalassa kolme vuotta. Kaksi ensimmäistä oli saanut yleisestä sairasvakuutuksesta kuluja katettua, mutta viimeisen vuoden joutunut maksamaan omasta taskusta, jopa 20k$ kuussa.

Really sad news yesterday about Peter David passing away. He wrote many of my favourite comic book runs in vol 4 of Captain Marvel. So much so that I had my single issue collection bound into a custom omnibus. Well, the first half of it any way.
One of the best long form writers of his generation. His runs on X-Factor and the Incredible Hulk were also fantastic.

This was the first issue I got by subscription Incredible Hulk 390, an personal favorite of Peter David's works.
I wish I had scanned the panel where the Hulk discusses how hard it is to get slippers his size. ...they were not hard to find in a size 10 >.>
Even as Marvel was trying to copy Image comics, and the prices were staring to out scale my minimum wage job, Peter David became the only reason I picked up any title from Marvel.

I'm very sad to hear that #PeterDavid has passed away. He was one of those writers (in comics and in text) who I would buy just because I saw his name on the cover. Witty, biting, and imaginative. My condolences to his family (about whom he wrote extensively).

A loss made more bitter by him being refused Medicaid & his family having to use a Go Fund Me to deal with medical debts. It's beyond vile anyone has to be run into debt just to receive medical help.

Peter David passed away. This is the cover to the first comic of his that I read. The scene with Quicksilver warped my mind in terms of fleshing out a character in such a relatable way. Rest in peace.
