I'm a few days late, but I did end up watching The Seventh Seal for #MovieClub last night. I'm not the biggest Bergman fan (though I really liked Wild Strawberries) and I found it hard to separate my response to the film from the decades of parodies it inspired (not just direct Chess-inspired ones, but how it's a stereotypical "foreign" film from a US perspective). In the end, I liked it, but I do think it's overrated (and you can definitely tell it was originally a play).

I love nearly everything about this, maybe not how Lauren Bacall's face came out. Wild tropical colours, dramatic diagonals, the hint of a natural disaster.

The Italian means "Coral Island" which is a very well known boys-own-adventure book in the English Speaking World. I can only assume that it was released in Italy under the name "Key Largo".

I'm finally able to see the Odyssey today. 15/70 at the AMC CityWalk IMAX. In my opinion, this is the only true IMAX theatre in the Los Angeles area.
