  1. It's always "more complicated than that." Nevertheless this thread (unrolled so you don't have to go there) brings together some interesting graphs.

Wonder how many should be on the spurious correlations site. 😀

#Tariffs can't even be used to fund anything, because #taxes don't fund anything. The purpose of taxes (other than driving behavior or fore use of the currency) is to cause #deflationary pressure by reducing the #money supply.

There's no reduction in the #MoneySupply, to do that you'd need to tax #exports!
Tariffs have their uses, specifically to level playing fields w/r to human rights, workers #rights, #environmental stewardship, etc...

So, collecting #money (from a #foreign entity) and then putting that money into our #economy causes _double_ inflation in our economy and deflation in _their_ economy, strengthening their currency and capacity for government spending.

#Trump is a fucking moron. Though it does give me hope.

He's a petty #tyrant who is making an #empire of ash. He can't simultaneously succeed in becoming a #fascist #dictator and also destroying the #state.

We should add a rather large caveat to what we wrote above.

In today's #neocolonial system, where the #moneySupply is the means of #extraction from the worker (plunder) it is almost impossible to achieve the above stated work environment.

The #corporatist system that allows #moneyPrinting to protect politically connected corporations that are #tooBigToExist, means that the vast majority of #smallHolders are made made extinct.

  13. "I trust the #Australian #government to protect me from #scams."

    You know that;
    - #Medibank still goes through #Amazon?,
    - Australia's federal police (afp.gov.au) goes through #CloudFlare?,
    - according to govt, "#FacebookReFriendedAustralia" by openly #bribing our media?,
    - Social services (humanservices.gov.au) goes through #Akamai?
    - Govt multiplied the #moneySupply by approx six times during #covid, mostly benefitting the most wealthy?

    Lol

  14. @101101000
If GNUTaler is built on #fiat we're pleased we only namedropped it in a caveat, "some are suggesting Duniter and #Taler but we've not researched those."

Fiat is latin for "let it (their #corruption and abuse of power) be so".

Someone said above "money is power". Only partly right, control over #moneySupply is #power, and we've seen during the past two years how #kleptocrats manipulate supply for self-gain and to hurt non-hedonist #savers.
