The stars are down and the moon is up, making the comet harder to see. But if you have a digital camera with a 50 mm lens or bigger and you point it west a little above the horizon, you'll see it.

#Weather in #Arizona looks perfect for the #transit night ... but the #KittPeak #observatory was hit by a serious #contreras #fire in June and the #telescope is down since then. Fortunately, the #firefighters saved the observatory and the staff are working hard. The instrument is expected to be back on sky on Nov. 11, hence ONE DAY before the transit. We still don't know what will be the instrumental stability. #AstronomerLife
