@nasaadmin has delivered wins for an administration that has been swamped by a series of self-owns, including a deeply unpopular war in Iran, inflation, multiple scandals, and other setbacks. #Trump is trying to take credit for providing “all that money” for #NASA when the fiscal year 2026 budget proposal even sought to cancel the #Roman #SpaceTelescope
-
Roman is on its way! Just separated from the Falcon Heavy 2nd stage, and is on its way to the Earth-Sun Lagrange Point 2.
It will take ~30 days to get into its halo orbit around L2, with commissioning work along the way. IIRC we can expect the first pictures/science around the turn of the year.
Woot!

Things in the Universe that make you go Hmmmm!
Astronomers spot a new object. It appears to be a star as big as our solar system emitting 100 billion times more energy than any known star can physically produce?
Is this a "black hole star" MIT astronomers are asking .... Scientists indicate the most likely explanation for this strange new red dot is that it is a mashup of a black hole and a star. https://phys.org/news/2026-08-black-hole-star-astronomers-brand.html

NASA is gearing up to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on August 30 sending the spacecraft 1 million miles from Earth to unlock the mysteries of the universe.
Roman will investigate and answer questions about dark matter, dark energy, cosmology, exoplanets and astrophysics, by capture panoramic images about 100 times larger than the Hubble Space Telescope. https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2026/07/14/NASAs-Roman-Space-Telescope-set-to-unlock-the-universes-biggest-mysteries/4941784068962/ #NASA #Astronomy #Space #SpaceTelescope #RomanSpaceTelescope #OuterSpace #Research #Universe #Astrophysics #DarkMatter #Exoplanets #Hubble #Cosmology #SpaceExploration

What is new in the Universe, is actually very old!
The European Space Agency’s Euclid space telescope has discovered 31 of the most ancient quasars ever found.
Two of these galaxy cores EUCL J172902.75+641018.1 and EUCL J125308.55+705432.3 are powered by gargantuan black holes, and are the earliest quasars yet observed in cosmic history.
Both lie just over 13 billion light-years away, and emerged during the Universe’s first 670 million years – just 5% of its current age. https://www.esa.int/Science_Exploration/Space_Science/Euclid/Euclid_discovers_the_most_ancient_quasar_in_the_Universe #EU #Euclid #SpaceTelescope #Space #Universe #Astronomy #Quasars #BlackHoles #Galaxy #CosmicHistory
