    Beautiful new visible-light images from the DKIST solar telescope in Hawai'i, showing structures on the Sun down to 19km (26 milliarcsec) in size.

    These scalloped plasma structures are small-scale magnetised Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities – these have long been theorised & could explain the transport of heat, mass, & magnetic fields from the Sun's surface into the extremely hot corona.

    Ihre Aufgabe ist es, kosmische Radiosignale zu verstärken, ohne dass diese im eigenen elektronischen Rauschen untergehen 📉. Das Ergebnis sind Empfänger, die so empfindlich sind, dass selbst die schwächsten Signale aus dem All messbar werden 🌌.

    Zum Vergleich: Ein Smartphone würde auf dem Mond im Radiobereich ein deutlich messbares Signal erzeugen 📱🌕 – und wäre damit im Vergleich zu vielen astrophysikalischen Quellen sehr stark.
