The Voyager 1 spacecraft is coming up on two major milestones: reaching a distance of 1 light-day away from Earth in November, and next year, passing 50 years since its launch.
And even though it hasn't captured any images since 1990, it's still "making discoveries in the uncharted territory of interstellar space".

How much faster than Voyager 1 do you think humans could make a similar mass probe? Voyager was slungshot around Jupiter and Saturn... could we take a mission closer to pick up more energy or swing it back and do a second, third, fourth pass?
Is there an upper limit? I don't think friction is an issue.
Fun note, Voyager 2 got a third gravitational assist from Uranus and was going faster but they slowed it down using Neptune to get close to the moon Triton.

After 48 years, 11 months, 4 days, 22 hours, and 35 minutes, Voyager 1 is approximately 25.6 billion km (15.9 billion miles) from the Earth.
That's 171.012 au or, at the speed of light, 23h 42m 15s.
From the Sun, Voyager 1 is approximately 25.6 billion km (15.9 billion miles or 171.415 au.)
Velocity relative to the Earth is about 37 km/sec (~84,719 mph); to the Sun about 16 km/sec (~37,763 mph.)
Voyager 1's position has been updated via NASA's new JSON information.

Corrections have been applied and both @voyager1 and @voyager2 should have (more) correct distances from tomorrow.
Also added the light-time to their profile descriptions because why not.
Horribly (and I mean HORRIBLY) crufty code at https://git.rjp.is/rjp/voyagers if anyone is interested.
