"This is a photo of Bernie sitting up and using a wheelchair yesterday. Today he is being discharged from the Rehabilitation hospital in Portland and he is moving into an assisted living center in Kennebunk. He enjoys having visitors as he continues his recovery process.

"He is very grateful to everyone of you who have donated to help him offset some of the medical expenses he has already incurred, and the towards the monthly cost of the assisted living facility."

There is a dire need for more people to work in #SpectrumManagement , both on the technical and regulatory side. This work has always been short-staffed, and much of the workforce is (or soon will be) eligible for retirement.

For #astronomers, involvement is an important enabling activity, and crosses heavily into #SciComm and #SciencePolicy work.

The field has a learning curve, and expertise all its own. But knowledge of spectrum use applications is important and applicable.
