  1. Full-disk View of Titania

Voyager 2 obtained this full-disk view of Uranus moon Titania in the early morning hours of Jan. 24, 1986, from a distance of about 500,000 kilometers 300,000 miles. Many circular depressions, probably impact craters, are visible in this clear-filter.

On Jan. 24, 1986, NASA Voyager 2 returned the highest-resolution picture of Titania, Uranus largest satellite. Abundant impact craters of many sizes pockmark the ancient surface; most prominent features are fault valleys that stretch across Titania. photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/cata

Re-analysis shows its magnetic field isn't uniquely dead, significantly raising the odds that moons #Titania and #Oberon hide subsurface oceans.

  16. Wonderful re-introduction to the Uranian planetary system by #Astrum with all the latest updates. 🪐

If 18th century astronomers had named this #IceGiant #planet: after the Roman god of the sky instead of the Greek one, then #ElonMusk would be wearing an "Occupy Caelus" T-shirt instead of an "Occupy Mars" T-shirt. 🤷

  17. Daily Drawings: Jan 15 & 16

I wanted to draw more flowers this year, so that's at least one down for 2026! This is a moth orchid which when I heard it had moth in its name, I wanted to draw it! Then here's Titania from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance! I love her and her design soooooo much. I needed some armour practice so she got picked!

  31. 4 out of 5 #Uranus #moons likely to have #ocean under crust
A preview of what #UranusOrbiter and Probe might find in the 2040s
The #water is believed to be located between the core and icy crusts in oceans 30km deep for moons Ariel and #Umbriel, and less than 50m for #Titania and #Oberon.
It's not uncommon to find water in dwarf #planets and moons. For example, #dwarfplanets #Ceres and #Pluto, as well as #Saturn's moon #Mimas, have all shown evidence of liquid water.

  33. Titania - Highest Resolution Voyager Picture

This is the highest-resolution picture of Titania returned by Voyager 2.

The picture is a composite of two images taken Jan. 24, 1986, through the clear filter of Voyager's narrow-angle camera. At the time, the spacecraft was 369,000 kilometers (229,000 miles) from the Uranian moon; the resolution was 13 km (8 mi).
