  5. Nowe badania Apple: roboty uczą się działać, oglądając świat oczami ludzi

Apple, we współpracy z MIT, Carnegie Mellon i innymi uczelniami, zaprezentowało nowy sposób trenowania humanoidalnych robotów.

Naukowcy stworzyli zbiór danych PH2D, zawierający ponad 25 tys. ludzkich i 1,5 tys. robotycznych demonstracji manipulacji obiektami.

Zamiast kosztownych i czasochłonnych sesji teleoperacyjnych, dane zebrano z pomocą aplikacji na Apple Vision Pro, wykorzystującej kamerę i technologię ARKit do śledzenia ruchu głowy i dłoni.

Dodatkowo, by dopasować tempo ruchów ludzi do możliwości robotów, nagrania spowolniono czterokrotnie na etapie trenowania.

Badanie otwiera nowe możliwości w dziedzinie robotyki i pokazuje potencjał integracji technologii Apple w automatyzacji przyszłości.

  7. ARKit PlaneDetectionProvider: visualize detected planes

Pealing away the abstraction from "Placing content on detected planes" by Apple to see what we need to do to convert an anchor into something we can render and see.

  16. #visionpro #visionos #arkit Did you know that RealityKit files (.reality) open in Quick Look on visionOS 2 and can be manipulated like USDZ files that are opened in Quick Look.

Try it out. Create framed photos with "FrameIt Vision" 2.0 ( itunes.apple.com/app/id6472856), export them to Files and then open them from the Files app.

  33. I'm trying to place an object where the user takes a photo in AR. I've modified the AR app template to make a custom AR view, and then moved the object creation code to a button action. I'm trying to create an ARAnchor using the camera transform and placing the object using that, but nothing’s appearing in the view (the template code places the object on a plane and that worked).

    c. line 129 in this gist: gist.github.com/JetForMe/adf1e

Apple’s examples really want you to place objects on planes (developer.apple.com/documentat), but that’s not what I want to do.

  35. ARKit devs, what’s the portion of ARKit that would allow me to precisely localize a phone in a known space? Like to within a centimeter? I thought it might’ve been Location Anchors but I think that’s not it.

  38. Part 7: Getting to (non-beta) ARKit compliance for my scripted usda outputs is going to be uglier than I had hoped since usdc files are required.

Figured that out by coaxing the Apple provided usdARKitChecker to pass through a little more info from usdchecker util, and then smooshed the files together using usdcat. Unclear on how to do this all in Swift down the line, but works for now!

  40. This is crazy: #ARKit creates maps of your environments based on your geo location. If you anchor something to your wall at home and something else to your desk at your office, #visionOS knows where you are and loads the right WorldAnchors for your current location. 🤯

  41. @JustMeDevin I think it’s fairly easy using #ARKit. But might require the app to the only one running.

And it seems we can’t play around with ARKit and surface/object detection in the vision simulator :(

  42. So has anyone gotten ARKit things to work in the #visionOS sim yet?

Seems like the experiences we can build so far are just windowed apps and fully immersive experiences, but what about basic #ARKit stuff like putting a weather widget on the nightstand, or a virtual painting on the wall?

Also is there no way to turn a virtual digital crown?
