If you missed it, here's an interactive model of the well and associated palace walls we discovered in the woods of Forty Hall this year:

I've been looking at Gaussian Splatting for a while and now I've finally tried it myself. One of my first splatts is of this "monument" near my grandparents that turned out pretty decent after all. With just 79 pictures and half an hour of computation I'm amazed at how easy this can be!

This mornings #photogrammetry work in progress. Ortho-rectified image of the main elevation of the Guildhall in Winchester.

Playing with #photogrammetry using my own captured datasets (from recent vacation). Here's an Eeve render of a scanned scene. #3D #Blender #Meshroom

@eayavas Thanks! I have captured insane number of pictures, I hope I can make an HDRi from that and also maybe do a simple game with environment built from models created using #Meshroom #photogrammetry software. I have never managed to make a complete environment map from photos (using #Hugin), but Meshroom has an HDR Panorama workflow that I hope can turn my pile of RAWs into an EXR that could be used in a game. I only wasn't able to capture sounds of the space, because of people around.

A 5,000-year-old artificial island beneath Loch Bhorgastail is changing what we know about prehistoric #crannogs. Using #photogrammetry, Blankshein and her team uncovered evidence of #Neolithic construction and activity.
Thanks to Dario Radley and Archaeology News Online Magazine for the coverage! 😊

Exciting news for #photogrammetry aficionados - first development builds of #Meshroom with acceleration that does NOT require an #nVidia GPU are coming
https://github.com/alicevision/AliceVision/actions/runs/26523361228You have no idea how long I've been wishing for this! Being vendor-locked in the #FOSS world feels extra weird, but until recently nobody has stepped up to improve this situation.
I've yet to test this myself, but the build passed and I am excitrd to throw some of my personal pictures at at and see what can I make!

A still image from the final 3D #photogrammetry model. In blue is the fragmented East Northwall Firn glacier. Project Pressure’s calculations show that the glacier has decreased in area by approximately 95% since 2002.

At the survey point, the team places colourful ground control targets. Klaus Thymann uses a drone to take hundreds of high-resolution images of the area. The images are combined into a #photogrammetry model,

It’s been a while since I last did some large-scale photogrammetry. Here is the church of St Martin of Tours, near Oswestry on the England-Wales border.

The “White Ribbon” problem: why is the water’s edge so hard to map? 🌊🕵️♂️
New in FirstView: Blankshein et al. dive into the "white ribbon", and show how specialized #photogrammetry can overcome waves and shifting light to create high-precision 3D models of hidden #heritage. 📸💻

Here a music video I created a few years ago with Blender using #photogrammetry #LGM2026
The second album is coming soon. The author just needs to find the right label 😁

And with these 4 #photogrammetry models, I cracked the 800 mark on my Sketchfab account. I know, it should be primarily about quality than quantity, but they're not all crap. 😉

"Photogrammetry in Three Acts" 📸🏺
In her new blog post for @cambup-archaeology.cambridge.org, Patricia Markert explores how #photogrammetry transformed from a recording tool into a #collaborative practice of memory during the Old D’Hanis Archaeological Mapping Project. 🤝 ✨
