Posting this here since I bet I won't be the only person confused by this:
I updated my phone to #iOS27 last night. At lunch today I was using Safari and couldn't figure out where my bookmarks went. There was a very obvious tab button, but no way I could see to show me my bookmarks.
Turns out, when you've got #Safari set to have tabs in "Compact" layout, the only way to see your bookmarks is to open a new tab. Then you can access them from the top of the screen along with some other stuff. If you change the setting from "Compact" to "Bottom", then it puts a button for bookmarks at the bottom of the screen.
I rarely open new tabs in Safari for iOS, so it would have taken me a very long time to discover this!

Tak naprawdę to nie jest duży problem, żeby zrobić wersję #RedirectTube dla #Safari. Jest tylko wciąż jeden problem. Żeby opublikować jakiekolwiek rozszerzenie dla Safari, musi ono się pojawić w #MacAppStore, a żeby pojawiło się w Mac App Store, potrzebna jest licencja deweloperska #Apple.

Zaledwie dni dzielą nas od oficjalnej prezentacji iOS 27, a machina przecieków pracuje na najwyższych obrotach.
Według najnowszego raportu Marka Gurmana z Bloomberga, tegoroczna aktualizacja systemu dla iPhone’ów przyniesie nie tylko nowości pod maską, ale również zauważalne zmiany w projektowaniu interfejsów kluczowych aplikacji. Co ciekawe, Apple zamierza oddać użytkownikom kontrolę nad elementami, które do tej pory były sztywno zablokowane.
Aparat wreszcie oddany w ręce użytkowników
Największa i najbardziej zaskakująca zmiana ma dotyczyć systemowej aplikacji Aparat. Choć Apple odświeżyło jej wygląd w ubiegłym roku przy okazji premiery iOS 26, nadchodząca wersja ma przynieść znacznie większe zmiany. Zgodnie z przeciekami, interfejs aparatu stanie się w pełni konfigurowalny. Użytkownicy będą mogli samodzielnie decydować, które funkcje i tryby mają być widoczne na ekranie oraz w którym miejscu zostaną umieszczone.
To spora zmiana filozofii dla firmy z Cupertino, która zazwyczaj narzucała jeden, „właściwy” układ. Dodatkowo aplikacja zyska zupełnie nowy tryb Siri, zoptymalizowany pod kątem funkcji inteligencji wizualnej.
Gruntownej przebudowy doczeka się również raczkujący moduł Image Playground. Z doniesień wynika, że generator obrazów AI od Apple zostanie całkowicie przeprojektowany w całym ekosystemie (iOS 27, iPadOS 27 i macOS 27). Twórcy stawiają na odświeżoną galerię oraz znaczne uproszczenie narzędzi do generowania i edycji grafik, co ma uczynić to rozwiązanie bardziej intuicyjnym.
Ewolucja w Safari i użyteczne detale w Pogodzie
Oprócz przetasowań w Aparacie, Apple szykuje mniejsze, ale istotne poprawki w innych codziennych narzędziach. Przecieki wskazują na odświeżenie co najmniej trzech popularnych aplikacji:
- Safari: przeglądarka otrzyma nową stronę startową, wyposażoną w cztery zakładki umieszczone u góry ekranu. Ma to ułatwić i przyspieszyć nawigację między ulubionymi witrynami, zakładkami, listą czytelnią a historią przeglądania.

- Znajdź (Find My): aplikacja przejdzie subtelny lifting wizualny, który obejmie przede wszystkim nowe, odświeżone ikony na dolnym pasku nawigacyjnym.
Porządki w nawigacji. Poprawki w Liquid Glass
Zeszłoroczne wdrożenie języka projektowania Liquid Glass przyniosło sporo świeżości, ale wywołało też pewien chaos nawigacyjny. W iOS 26 Apple eksperymentowało z wyrzuceniem przycisku wyszukiwania z głównego paska zakładek i umieszczeniem go w prawym dolnym rogu ekranu.
Wiele wskazuje na to, że w iOS 27 Apple wycofuje się z tego pomysłu. Wyszukiwarka ma zostać ponownie zintegrowana z głównym, dolnym paskiem nawigacyjnym. Zmiana ta obejmie kluczowe aplikacje systemowe, w tym Muzykę, TV, Podcasty, News oraz Zdrowie, ale najpewniej stanie się nowym, globalnym standardem projektowym dla całego systemu. To dowód na to, że nawet najwięksi gracze potrafią przyznać się do błędu użyteczności (UX) i posprzątać interfejs w oparciu o negatywny odzew użytkowników.

#Safari's #opus support is still quirky. With a #webm container, playback works but AnalyserNodes won't receive anything to compute frequency data with. With #ogg, `getByteFrequencyData()` works, but the audio element calculates the wrong duration, prob. b/c it always assumes CBR. Also if you build the audio pipeline before the first user interaction in Safari, nothing will get routed to the speakers
But still, the #WebAudioAPI is awesome!

That's good actually, because you #webdevs keep chasing the shiny new features #Chrome / #Chromium / #Blink is pushing to the #web like fucking fireflies, to the detriment of #webcompat with small #browsers like #PaleMoon, #Basilisk, and others based on #UXP / #Goanna / #XUL (like #SeaMonkey).
As someone who used to work actively in Pale Moon's development, I am witness to a website that almost broke its #compatibility with my #browser but was stopped because the new feature it wanted to require was not yet available in an old #Safari / #WebKit version they're still supporting.
So yes, from my point of view, #Apple does more to support the #openweb than #Mozilla and #Firefox (which always follows Chrome whenever it's not controversial) does, even if it didn't intend to. And to be clear, I am not even an Apple fanboy. The only Apple device I own is this ancient 1st generation of the iPad mini. I don't like their ecosystem.
So it's not a bad take. It's the reality we independent desktop browser developers see in #webdev. ☕
