The third party, #LiberalDemocrats, when part of #UKgov also jumped on the band-wagon and voted for stripping #disabled & #ChronicallyIll folk of their #benefits ( #SocialSecurity ) and thus many lost their adapted vehicles, motor-scooters and even electronic #wheelchairs! There is little hope for us - save for #Scotland, but that may not last…

The #EurovisionSongContest #ESC banned Russia from entering the competition when they invaded Ukraine. Yet despite the #genocide in #Palestine, the #EBU did NOT ban #Israel from #ESC2024. They have again permitted an Israeli entry for #ESC2025. As in 2024, I shall again be boycotting all official #EUROVISION media. Apparently last year the EBU insists no member objected to Israel being pemitted to join in. #Slovenia has objected this year and has threatened to withdraw.

For the past few days I have been re-watching #Ultraviolet, a #Channel4 production aired in 1998. Although the word is never mentioned, it is about #vampires - so if you do not like the sight of blood, this is not for you!
It is full of famous actors, including #IdrisElba, #JackDavenport, #FionaDolman, #ColetteBrown, #PhilipQuast, #ThomasLockyer & #StephenMoyer. Plus cameos by other well-known actors.

I am in the second decile (one is poorest) of the income distribution graphs produced for the #UK. I pay #IncomeTax, #CommunityCharge, #VAT, #TVLicence, etc. I am willing to pay more if it will help those who need support; however, I also believe that those who have more ought to pay more - especially the top decile which is constantly & consistently given financial breaks that enrich them by the #Conservative / #Tory #UKgov. Some call it #corruption, I call it deeply #unethical & #immoral!

@MarkMaguire @kevinteljeur @SarahDelahunty @lucyweirphd I am still on Twitter because more #pwME & #pwFM & #pwLC and #disabilities in general are over there. I have been connecting slowly with folk here, but, with one or two wonderful exceptions, there is almost no interaction here. I am #housebound & #bedridden: SM is my only social-life, or help-point. Unless matters deteriorate drastically it is unlikely that many #disabled groups will move elsewhere.

Ongoing failures by #NHS towards #pwME, especially those of us with #SevereME or #VerySevereME, really do need the UK ME charities to step up their game. My suggestion is a national #BuddySystem.

ALL of the big M.E. charities have seriously let down #pwME: as far as I can tell (having searched their websites as best I could and checked via search-engine too), none has instigated a #BuddySystem. However, ideally, they ought to all work together to develop a national one-stop system, where those in need and those who wish to volunteer can be brought together.

#UKgov has treated #disabled folk badly since 2010. The #MinisterForDisabled changes often. #Pursglove failed to point out that the last review was quashed by the Courts & that UK is only country formally investigated by #UN for breaches of #UNCRPD and found to be failing across the board.

Trying to find out more about #HUA or #HoursOfUprightActivity. There was nothing as far as I could see on #MEpedia and the #MEAssociation search was not refined enough. In 2011 (partly organised by myself) we had a #StreetParty (image below) in our middle-class neighbourhood to celebrate the #RoyalWedding, with bunting, food, games, etc. Twelve years later and not so much as a party-popper. The odd neighbour put up restrained decorations. But, no party for the #Coronation.
What occurred in those twelve years that enthusiasm for matters royal fell out of favour with even the relatively well-off middle-classes?

As I understand there are many illnesses that do not have definitive diagnostic tests; so blood-tests, determining symptoms, scans, observations, etc. collectively lead clinicians to a diagnosis. Examples are #Parkinsons, #MultipleSclerosis, #Hypothyroidism, #Hyperthyroidism, etc.
The obsession with a #DiagnosticTest is a diversionary tactic used to justify clinging to antiquated beliefs!
