Deeply sad news. I had feared this might happen.
A young man with an urge to be special, apparently compelled to present himself as heroic in all fields, possibly at the expense of truth and honesty. The institution's machinery saw an opportunity to use his shine for its own branding. Duty of care was violated.
An ambitious and conflicted young scholar needed nurturing and calming by his university. Instead the institution amplified the hype. He was exploited while he had the shine, then dropped. He could not manage the fracturing of his world. Desperately sad.
When the cracks in his claims first came out, I wrote: "His soul must be shaking." May his soul be healed. Thinking of his family and friends.

As I did I could see the possibility of a “Zero-Sum Situation” developing in the future. Will A.I’s capabilities outweigh human expression to the point where fictious writing posted on the internet is deem a danger to their existence, and the proper authority is dispatched to their location by A.I. immediately? In some instances it can be beneficial in the saving of lives, yet when the pendulum swings too far the the right other people will be affected as well. Its all speculative yet if not checked or investigated, by the time it has evolved it may be too late to stop it.

Of all the acts a human being can perform, suicide is the strangest. It requires the actor to picture a world without itself, judge that world preferable, and execute a plan whose author will not survive to see the result. No other behavior in the human repertoire so cleanly inverts the survival logic that built every body and every brain. The question of whether other animals do the same thing is a question about cognition. The behavior is downstream of cognition, and beneath cognition runs the question of meaning.
