We talk about people who kill themselves or die of drug overdoses like "oh, suicide / opioids killed another person" but that's not true. *We* kill them. With petty individualism and a society that doesn't give a shit about anything but profit. Drugs & suicide are just two mediums by which we deliver death.
You cannot wage a war on suicide or drugs because they are symptoms. You *can* build systems meant to heal & enrich, not exploit & destroy.

Deeply sad news. I had feared this might happen.
A young man with an urge to be special, apparently compelled to present himself as heroic in all fields, possibly at the expense of truth and honesty. The institution's machinery saw an opportunity to use his shine for its own branding. Duty of care was violated.
An ambitious and conflicted young scholar needed nurturing and calming by his university. Instead the institution amplified the hype. He was exploited while he had the shine, then dropped. He could not manage the fracturing of his world. Desperately sad.
When the cracks in his claims first came out, I wrote: "His soul must be shaking." May his soul be healed. Thinking of his family and friends.

I shall absorb them.

France Inter reports today that the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into mobbing phenomena in the office of the French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, after two employees committed suicide in March 2026, and two suicide attempts have been recorded since October 2025.
Additionally, in June an anonymous employee made another report of mobbing, and three earlier cases are still being investigated.
One of the officials who attempted suicide last April filed a complaint about "mobbing against several superiors in the Prime Minister's correspondence service," the Paris prosecutor's office confirmed to Le Figaro.
