I caught up with an old friend on their birthday. It seemed nice for a bit, then we got to talking.
I didn't like the way the conversation was going and what was being said about me, so I asked for it to stop.
They didn't stop.
I asked again, this time with a little offense.
Oh man, they did not like the offense. I had criticized their privilege, and they infantilizingly said, "take a time out," and blocked me temporarily.
Some days I wonder if some folks ever plan to outgrow these childish games.
I didn't block temporarily. I wish them well. May their final word carry them forth and aloft to whatever they desire.
I'm in grief, but at least I know I did right by me. I put down my boundary, and I answered its second violation and the defensiveness that followed with my absence.
If I am a good person, there's no greater punishment. If I'm not, there's no greater gift. So it's the best thing I can do no matter what. 💙

I'm excited about #bevy 's upcoming new scene system! I didn't wait for it to be out, and made fernweh, a plugin based on the in-progress branch.
It's a tiny, but very handy plugin designed to help with chunk-based procedural generation. It lets you specify the procedural generation logic in a declarative way (what chunks should be visible at any point in time, what a given chunk should consist of) and takes care of asynchronously computing the contents of new chunks, and spawning/despawning chunks.
It's very, very generic, so it can be used in 2D and 3D.
Attached is the repository's example: you control the white disk, and chunks (materialized by colored polygons) spawn and despawn based on where you are.
Here the chunks are simple entities, but thanks to the new scene system you can have them be arbitrary hierarchies of entities.
Each chunk takes a little while to appear, because the example includes a `std::thread::sleep()` call to simulate computationally intensive calculations (think sampling random noise, collapsing wave functions...), but those are performed asynchronously, so they don't block interaction.

TL;DR: Написал open-source десктопное приложение TG Unblock на Rust, которое в один клик обходит блокировку Telegram через локальный WebSocket-прокси. Трафик заворачивается в обычный HTTPS к web.telegram.org — DPI не видит MTProto, провайдер не может шейпить. Без VPN, без серверов, без абонентки. Код на GitHub — by-sonic/tglock . Предыстория: почему GoodbyeDPI не спасает С весны 2026 года Telegram в России стал работать, мягко говоря, через боль. Сообщения доходят по 10 секунд, медиа не грузятся, звонки рвутся. Классическая картина: провайдер + DPI = страдания. Первое, что приходит в голову — GoodbyeDPI . Запустил, пакеты фрагментируются, DPI не узнаёт MTProto... и вроде работает. Но: Пинг 200+ мс — при норме 40–60 Постоянные переподключения — DPI переобучается и режет соединения IP-шейпинг — провайдер троттлит весь трафик к подсетям Telegram (149.154.x.x, 91.108.x.x) Соник, что ты сделал?

Well that isn't a contradiction in my eyes. It should just be writing the parity for all of the data that is currently pending but not block for all of the new data that is pooring in too.
I feel like there is some race condition at play here...
E.g. If I copy 14TB, have a writeback of 66GB and do a sync when the rsync is at 13TB left to be copied then it shouldn't block the "sync" until the rsync is entirely done with all 13TB as well...

modern cars with front bench seat, maybe like the 2000s era Toyota Avalon where the back of the middle seat could be switched down to have an arm rest + center console.
And I don't even need it to really use the middle seat itself.
It's more about the leg room. When parked, if I just wanna chill for a bit, I can easily stretch out my legs to the right.
So then, even if it's not a bench seat, at least do something give us more cars where the front is like the cybertruck:
Even though it's not a front bench seat, you get the same amount of open space leg room as if it were. I.e., in the cybertruck, the front is completely open space, but it still has a center console. It just doesn't block you off completely. It's open down to the ground.

Unlike Boxing that uses your fists to block punches, Wing Chun uses a Man Sau, aka asking hand, to divert the opponent's strikes. To divert a punch, you use bon sau with the Man Sau elbow being raised. In other words, you don't block using your fists, instead you use your arm to divert a punch upward or sideway.
