Wow, even old Chef #InSpec versions now require a license. A license that you need to request before you can actually install the RPM package. Until recently you’ve just had to confirm only using the software for personal or evaluation use (which I did for trainings).

Anyone who uses Google Alerts on their Android or in other #Google products, notice here lately results and notifications are coming in but the alert contents are 5, 10, 15 years old? I think their AI has been scrapping news website archives and it is misconfigured and sends the alert the day it finds it and not the actual date of the article or content in the alert. #Enshittification

Solution:
System console > users > actions > switch to email/password.
It’s just extremely bad UI because it shows the member state (`Member`, `Deactivated`, …). It does not look like there’s anything related to login. Sure, the column title reads `Action` … but that can be overlooked for hours.
Just learned that you can reset password and change email there as well.

Seems like Mattermost and GitLab now really don’t like each other anymore. Mattemost users with GitLab SSO can’t sign in anymore.
To make things worse: to me it seems that there’s no way to recover acess in the team edition. User management is behind the paywall a.k.a. enterprise feature. 😤

@leftylabourtech strangely, I have lost interest in reading things with an #enshittification hashtag, because hordes of people have popularised misuse of the tag. They use it simply because it's popular, without caring about the meaning; they imagine that its use will make them popular.
That's not to imply that you're misusing it. I see the name of the tuber and I have no doubt that he knows the true meaning of the tag.
I'm just reflecting on people's twisting of the meanings of words; and the ultimate effects of this twisting.

Turns out if you have a backup disk connected Apple Spotlight isn’t smart enough to know not to try to index your time machine backups. (Solution - open the spotlight settings, click the odd spotlight privacy button at the bottom, then add your backup disk as a location not to be indexed)
Guessing this is why my wife’s iMac was crashing and failing often
