  1. @kevinbowen on Tipino, users decide what amount they want to 'fairpay' per month - Tipino splits that between the artists that user listens to.

And because #Spotify doesn't give us direct access to their data until we have 250000 users, we use #LastFM.

  6. @kevinbowen Did I miss anything? Do you prefer a Google Calendar!? 😅 might be a bit quirky old, but there are very many CalDAV integrations, servers and libraries out there, so I find it very well interoperable. 🤔

  7. @kevinbowen go to KCSM.org (jazz station in the SF Bay Area) and check the time for The Doodlin’ Lounge. You can get a B3 fix and learn a ton about the musicians and the history of the role of the B3 in jazz

  8. @kevinbowen @2 with really old distributions, one can still install the latest, and greatest, version of #KeePassXC using the #NixPackageManager, even when required dependencies or versions are unavailable in the base OS. #Nix can do this because it brings it's own dependency tree. Nix can do a bunch of interesting things that most other Peake managers can't.

One quirk is that the browser extension, may not be able to connect unless the browser was also installed with #Nix.

  13. @kevinbowen Oh this is interesting. I've kept this (ish) as one of my personal principles for writing documentation, that there need to be different kinds of documentation to serve different audiences (especially: tutorial and reference docs), but I never knew there was a formal system for it.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

I still don't care for it; web-based fora are, to a one, less usable, less #accessible, and less searchable than mailing lists (with web-based archives) or newsgroups. And so, so much #slower to try to read or skim through a day or week's worth of messages.

The #Rust community has a problem where they think they are sich Chads that they know everything because tHeRe cOdE iS tHreAd sAfE.

So now you have a bunch of guys, normally just developing libraries, thinking they have a core understanding of creating actual programming languages.

Other languages like #Go and #Python handle this better by having mature, transaprent, and well socumented discussions. Not just a bunch of Chads on a Discord server and a cult-like following to #ThePrimeagen.

The Cramps will always be cool.
To say otherwise, you'd be a fool.

  22. I remember calling in a request to the local college radio station in Philadelphia at Drexel University WKDU so that I could record this on a cassette tape after Negativland had been sued and the record became unavailble because U2's record label were humorless shits.

  23. We all good here?

    I'm good. I hope you're good.

    Let's be good tonight.

    Be good.
