#Transport for #London ran a consultation from 20 October 2025 to 15 January 2026 on bus lanes and walking and cycling improvements between Woolwich and Abbey Wood via Thamesmead. The consultation report states #Thamesmead is set for major regeneration with housing growth and improved amenities, with measures to support development ahead of a potential DLR extension in 2033, including bus priority, cycling upgrades and better crossings. Transport for London received 381 responses, mostly supportive, expecting more walking, cycling and bus use with little change in car use. Key locations were generally seen as improving overall, though congestion concerns were raised for Western Way. The scheme will proceed, with delivery targeted for early 2029 in coordination with the Royal Borough of #Greenwich.
