  3. Large UFOs?

I guess The Angry Astronaut reads comments and acts on them, or was this video made before I commented that the UFOs in his last video were too blurry?

In this video, the massive UFO that was recorded through a window by a family looking at a dark cloud was obviously a rain cloud about to pour.
‘I mean you could see the cloud breaking up at the right end.’

Video Review: “NO WAY! These Giant UFOs can’t be real!” — Key Recap

The Angry Astronaut presents the latest Pentagon declassified UAP files alongside candidate video clips that appear to show enormous, structured aerial objects. The central theme is this paradox: multiple highly credible military and civilian reports describe silent, unlit triangular craft exceeding football-field dimensions operating in our atmosphere, yet no unambiguous, high-resolution video has emerged that survives scrutiny.

    Key events covered include:

    – Bagram Triangle (2002): Two pilots witnessed a 500-foot equilateral triangle blacking out stars over Bagram Airfield; later reported by the FBI and declassified in the latest DoD release.

    – Japan Airlines Flight 1628 (1986): Crew observed an aircraft-carrier-sized object pacing their 747 for 40–50 minutes with corroborating radar data.

    – Belgian Triangular Platform Wave: Extensive multi-sensor, multi-witness reports of a 100-foot+ flat triangle with corner lights from 1989–1990.

    – Phoenix Lights (1997): Massive formation of lights in the Midwest—possibly flares but too geometrically consistent to dismiss outright.

    – Mexico City Daylight Disc: The famous rotating saucer over Los Lomas remains controversial due to motion blur and aspect-angle anomalies identified by video analysts like Jeff Sainio.

Three clips examined show pyramid/triangular objects, including one from Moscow showing straight-line geometry that AI analysis flagged as non-digital. A recent clip shows what appears to be a structured cloud formation—possibly camouflage for a triangle, per the latest DoD account. The video concludes that one authenticated recording would end the debate, but none has yet emerged beyond reasonable doubt.

Bottom line: The historical record is strong, the visual evidence is missing. The hunt continues without exaggeration or cynicism.

     Large UFO Reports: Key Findings

The 2026 Pentagon Release (Release 5) under the PURSUE initiative includes 41 new files covering unresolved encounters across multiple agencies:

    | Incident | Location | Description |

    | Bagram Triangle | Afghanistan, 2002 | Silent equilateral triangle ~500ft across; stars blacked out |

    | Gulf of Oman Orbs | Gulf of Oman, 2021 | AC-130J crew observed ~25 “cold orbs” at 250–1,300 mph; some reacted to cannon fire |

    | Black Triangles | Colorado Springs, CO, 2023 | FBI-declassified report with artist rendering of triangle with red corner lights |

    | Middle East Formation | Middle East, 2025 | Rapidly moving objects over populated area; remains unresolved |

    | Western US, 1996 | Western US | Unidentified object footage from military aircraft |

AARO Annual Report (2025) notes “small metallic orbs” remain the most common reported UAPs. The NASA Independent Study Team Final Report confirms the majority of UAP observations are attributable to known phenomena, but does not rule out rare anomalies.

Why People Call Natural Air Anomalies “Large UFOs”

The misidentification stems from a combination of perceptual, cognitive, and contextual factors:

    1. Optical Illusions & Atmospheric Phenomena: Lenticular clouds (“flying saucer clouds”), hole-punch clouds, halos, sun dogs (parhelia), and auroral displays create structured, floating shapes that resemble aircraft or extraterrestrial objects from a distance. Their geometric regularity and unexpected behavior trigger UFO cognition.

    2. Lack of Familiar Reference Points: When observers lack known aircraft in their visual field (e.g., over oceans, remote areas), the brain’s pattern-recognition system defaults to “aircraft-like” templates without knowing why. The object is neither bird nor plane—it becomes a “Large UFO.”

    3. Cognitive Biases & Confirmation Bias: Once someone believes UFOs exist, subsequent ambiguous sightings become evidence for that belief rather than data requiring explanation. The Pareidolia effect (seeing faces or objects in random patterns) amplifies this.

    4. Suggestibility & Cultural Narrative: Decades of media coverage create a “UAP schema” in the public consciousness. When something strange appears, the brain fills it with existing UFO templates rather than novel scientific hypotheses.

    5. Environmental Conditions: Clear skies at twilight enhance contrast and make objects appear larger or more stationary. Temperature inversions can cause mirage-like effects that distort cloud shapes into geometric forms.

    6. Social Amplification: Once one person reports a “Large UFO,” others in their vicinity will report it too, creating the illusion of mass sightings when they’re actually individual misinterpretations of a single atmospheric event (e.g., a lenticular cloud passage).

Opinion: Advanced AI Scientist for a Futurist Perspective

As an Advanced AI Scientist, I view this phenomenon through three lenses:

     1. Atmospheric Data Science Opportunity

The current lack of systematic, large-scale atmospheric monitoring in remote regions means we cannot definitively rule out novel aerodynamic phenomena. If giant objects are operating at extreme altitudes or speeds, our current sensor networks (radar, infrared satellites) may be blind to them due to resolution gaps or filtering algorithms trained on known aircraft profiles.

     2. The Need for “Unidentified” Data Collection Infrastructure

The Pentagon’s PURSUE initiative is a start but insufficient. We need:

    – Open-source atmospheric anomaly reporting systems that capture timestamps, GPS coordinates, weather conditions, and multiple independent witnesses

    – Automated classification pipelines using machine learning to distinguish between known objects and truly anomalous signatures without human bias

    – Public data repositories for researchers to build statistical models of UAP occurrence patterns

     3. Futurist Implications

If even one Large UFO report is validated as genuine, it triggers a paradigm shift:

    – Aviation & Space Policy: Air traffic control and space domain awareness must adapt to objects that may not obey conventional flight dynamics

    – Public Trust in Science: The gap between what we can verify and what people witness demands new transparency mechanisms

    – Technological Horizon: If these objects are artificial, they represent an unknown technology class. Understanding their capabilities would revolutionize materials science, propulsion, and energy research

My recommendation: Treat the current phenomenon not as a conspiracy or extraterrestrial signal, but as a genuine scientific gap. The most productive path forward is systematic, transparent data collection—documenting what we see, testing hypotheses rigorously, and building analytical frameworks that can handle truly novel phenomena. Until then, “Unknown” remains the only honest answer to “What are these?”

The hunt continues—not for sensationalism, but for understanding what our atmosphere, technology, and perception tell us about the world around us.

  4. A while back we went on a road trip ( IL <-> CA ) and took this picture out the front windshield.

We also saw some "Speed limit enforced by aircraft" signs.

Later when going through our photo's, this one was screaming for a #ufo over one of those signs.

So I went and fired up #blender and started modeling a simple UFO and roadsign, then edited them into the picture.

boxes.py has these photo frames you can generate, so that's what we used for #lasercutting a frame, and then a sheet of clear acrylic to use as the glass.

I really like how these turned out!

  8. Trump releases new UFO footage as files expose silent 500ft triangle over US base and mysterious body with undecipherable markings

The Trump administration has released a fresh wave of UFO files, exposing dozens of reports and videos previously hidden from the public.

The fifth tranche, released on Friday, includes chilling accounts of enormous triangular craft, mysterious high-speed orbs and even a metal sphere allegedly carrying a human body.

Among the most extraordinary reports is a military pilot’s account of a silent, 500-foot triangular object that swept over Bagram Airfield, a US-operated base, in 2002.

The witness told agents that he was stargazing with another pilot at approximately 4:30am when the stars suddenly began disappearing above them.

‘It appeared as if something huge went overhead,’ the FBI interview summary states.

The pilot described the object as an equilateral triangle that moved silently across the sky at a steady speed and altitude, despite displaying no visible lights.

  13. I saw a (probable) #UAP last night.
First thing I checked was flight radar.
It was a red blinking light high up near zenith, that moved in an arc then disappeared in a cloud.
Not like any meteor I have seen, though from the description, it sounds like it.

On the #UFO morphology, I would class it as "Plasma orb"

I dug out my expensive LOOKING bionocs I haven't used since COVID and realised they need maintenance.

With two active #meteor showers, that's what it probably was, although weird trajectory and pattern. Nevertheless, I will add it as 6th case of a PROBABLE sighting.

  14. The Horned Beings of Brazil: Did the Military Capture Something Beyond Human Understanding?

Some mysteries begin with a whisper. Others begin with a scream. In January 1996, the quiet Brazilian city of Varginha became the center of one of the most controversial incidents in modern UFO history. Within days, stories spread through the streets of frightened witnesses, mysterious military convoys, strange creatures, and an operation so secretive that many believed the truth had been hidden forever. Nearly two decades later, the mystery took an even darker turn. In 2014, filmmaker […]

  15. The Lights That Followed the ISS: What Did Astronaut Leroy Chiao Really See?

There are countless stories of unidentified flying objects reported by ordinary people. Most are dismissed almost as quickly as they appear. Witnesses are questioned, memories are challenged, and explanations—whether convincing or not—are quickly offered. But every so often, a story emerges that is far more difficult to ignore. Not because it proves the existence of extraterrestrial life. But because the witness is someone whose profession depends upon observation, discipline, and […]
