  2. #Hounslow Council has published a draft Public Transport Plan following consultation with residents and stakeholders. Feedback highlighted issues such as accessibility, overcrowding, reliability, journey times and limited services in some areas.

The plan aims to create a safer, more inclusive and environmentally #sustainable transport network, increasing public transport use from 21 per cent to 32 per cent by 2041. Proposals include improved bus, rail and Underground services, new express bus routes, Piccadilly line upgrades and better links to the Elizabeth line. Delivery will depend on partnership working with #Transport for #London and rail operators. A public survey is open until 15 March.

  3. A running theme between all these grooming scandals is that the Police are shit at what they're supposed to be doing. It seems they're actively covering up their mistakes and indifference as well.
    And what about the victims?!

  4. chiswickcalendar.co.uk/former- ← Rest In Power, Steve Curran.

I have worked with both #Ealing Council before and after the current cabinet, and with Hounslow council during and after Steve's leadership. It is a testament to his work in politics that #Hounslow continues to be a well-run group that stands up to do the right thing, often in stark contrast to the Ealing side of things.

    I miss him already.

  5. Ehsan Shahid Choudhry (""Mr Ramadan") of #Hounslow West #London provides food and mutual aid for 100 000 low income Londoners at the Open Kitchen he has set up since 2018 - they do not have to be #Muslim to visit the place, and it is open all year round (not just at #Ramadan)

  6. As I am still on an extended #introduction: if Town Halls and Civic Centres are your thing, here are three things I have written which may be of interest...

First, Hackney Town Hall, which has been beautifully restored: lccmunicipal.com/2018/06/12/as

Second, Hounslow Civic Centre, which has been sadly demolished:

Finally, neither restored nor completely demolished, the former Camberwell Town Hall:

  7. It amuses me that when I visit the #London Borough of #Hounslow library web site with #JavaScript disabled, the error message is in #Swedish first, and English second.
