„This is the Liège self-organized Social Center (Centre Social Autogéré in French), a large, occupied building in the heart of Liège, which has been buzzing with positive energy for the past month. It’s a former retirement home (so there are about fifty rooms, a ground floor with a large hall and a big kitchen... and we even have a lovely landscaped courtyard), now taken over by people of all ages eager to reclaim the city and wrest it from the hands of the wicked, to bring life back where others speculate on emptiness.“

‚Whereas the current political cycle appears like a mix of reactionary offensive, immiseration, and repression, the establishment of a giant squat in the center of Liège in Belgium appeared to us as an inspiring and motivating initiative.

After staying a few days there, we shared questions with people active in the social center. They sent us some answers clarifying what the occupation was about, under which context it has emerged, and under which conditions of possibility the occupation has been ongoing since then…..‘
