Latest Op Shop acquisition: CD of the soundtrack to Local Hero, music by Mark Knopfler. I had this on vinyl last century, it's a lovely peaceful listen. Great to get it back in digital form.

Pretty sure someone here wants this Pantone keyboard and mouse set for ... reasons. Get on down to the Hobart City Mission superstore in Moonah before it's gone.

This morning's op shop catch: season one of the mediaeval detective show Cadfael, with Derek Jacobi. Loved it the first time around last century, can now enjoy it again.

Once upon a time when we rented DVDs from special shops, we rented The Men Who Stare At Goats. Very funny, some top actors. I picked up a DVD of it from an op shop last year, and we just watched it again last night.
Solid pisstake of gung-ho military meets hippy psychics. Well acted by all. A bit of a sausage fest, very few women get a look-in, but maybe that's a feature not a bug.

Last night we watched the 2001 movie Amelie, a rewatch but it's been quite a few years since the last times. Still holds up, still at least a 9/10. A true masterpiece from Jean-Pierre Junet.
And since it's a DVD, we can watch it again any time. Thanks, #OpShop!

Picked up another CD from an op shop yesterday, and it's a lovely collection of jazz from artists around the world. Mostly not sung in English, quite a few old standards, great work by all. First time I've heard a jazz song te reo Māori. $2 I think.
It's produced by Putumayo World Music, who have quite the story themselves. Interested to pick up some more from them.

CW: op shop find, food mention
Latest op shop find on Tuesday was a set of four porcelain ramekins, $2 each. We use ramekins at breakfast for dal / beans, and had chipped a couple so they needed replacement.
They are lovely and light, much lighter than the stoneware ones they are replacing.
Pictured with today's late brunch: dosa, soft-boiled egg, avocado (Odd Bunch), spicy borlotti beans.

The op shop gods were smiling upon me today: another Enya CD; a Lily Allen CD; and Studio Ghibli's Porco Rosso DVD! $2 each.

What a fabulous day we’ve had. Did most of the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk in Albury which was about 5-6km all up, not huge but definitely enough. My NZ friend absolutely loved it all & so did I, such a lovely area in the wetlands. No wallaby’s today but plenty of bird life. Then off to the Lavington mall where my friend was looking for something specific & that’s where we ended up having lunch & coffee. Back into Albury & a visit to a local op shop where another friend works & I actually found 3 lovely winter tops & a pair of trousers & was charged less than was marked 😃 which was very nice. Lifeline Albury is a fantastic op shop if you’re ever down this way. Didn’t get home until mid afternoon & am feeling just a little tired, but it’s been a great day.

A visit to the #OpShop / #ThriftStore and the styles and designs are vastly better than in the new shops.

Just to eliminate any doubt, I am the actual cutest. I provide herewith a picture of my cobbled-together #secondHand pyjamas for future reference should any uncertainty arise about this fact. Note the sparkly slippers in particular.
Also some fan mail that fell out of the cupboard.

I met Tash in 2016 at what I'd hoped was the end of a tough chapter. She was one of my four housemates in a leafy, southern suburb of #Perth. Share-housing as a 31-year-old took some serious grit.
By 2020 we'd both moved, and on this particular October day Tash'd locked herself out of her house. She then took the opportunity to come and check out my digs.
Naturally we hit the nearby #OpShop, me braving the glares of onlookers judging my blemished complexion.
