Syynä oli heinäkuussa voimaan astunut 3 euron tullimaksu. Tullimaksun voimaantulon jälkeen pakettimäärät laskivat edelliseen kuukauteen nähden hurjat 66,5 prosenttia.

20 years ago, the #EU was firmly on the side of the consumer. It protected the average person from monopolies, scams and always laid the costs at the door of big capitalism.
Now, the current EU Parliament and the #VonDerLeyen cabinet (with some exceptions) is a who's who of shysters, snake oil salesmen and mediocrity.

I would be so irritated if I already made the effort to download an App to purchase something and then had to endure this enshittification before I could actually do what I installed it for.

My wife had her eyes on some specific watercolour brushes that she only found on Temu, so she installed the app... and I have never ever seen such an avalanche of dark patterns to confuse the user. The second you open it, you get assaulted by 100s of popups about rebates, cashbacks, coupons, etc., each one of course with 50 lines of T&C buried at the bottom, and when you close it, you get spammed with notifications. The most loud and garish slot machine looks tame in comparison. 🫣

@henry Exactly. People who still order from #Temu and #Shein are part of the problem, they keep funding garbage-quality junk and reward companies that dodge EU rules to sell it. I don't buy there, and I don't buy on #Amazon either since it refuses to let you filter out cheap Chinese junk from decent brands. About time the EU started cracking down on Temu.
