Good morning tooters, hope you all got a good sleep. Mine was better than the night before but still not great, thanks to needy little 🐀 💼 Tato & follower 🐀 💼 Echo. Managed to sleep until approximately 5am before I became aware of them trying to get into the bedroom. Unfortunately they also woke up the homeowners son who came home last night for two days & he was really tired 😬. Just 3 nights to go.
It is a very cold frosty morning -1c, feels like -3c & heading to a max of 12c. Looks beautiful outside though - she says from the warmth of the house 😂.
I’ve been enjoying my time at this sit for the most part but it definitely has its moments & it’s not just down to the dogs. Having my NZ friend with me has been great, but it’s also been difficult at times as we’ve been in each others company nearly 3wks now & we’re both opinionated, set in our ways, usually solo old tarts (we call ourselves this, so not a dig). To say the least it’s been tricky at times & tongue biting has happened on by sides I’m sure, but we’ve been friends since our mid 20’s - over 50 years & that means something to us both😁.

The word for the day at Ragtag Daily Prompt is success

I don’t “hate” a lot of things in life. I did when I was younger until I eventually reached a point where I realized it took a lot of energy to hate. But “success” is a word I hate.

I used to have a friend (RIP 11 years now☹️) who would judge everyone and everything. We would sit and be miserable together and he’d say stuff like, “He’s had a lot of girlfriends, he’s really a success”, or “He’s really successful, he has a good job and a lot of money.” You get the idea. And of course the underlying idea behind everything is that he and I, by virtue of our not having the things that he defined as “success” in life, like girlfriends, or glamorous careers, or fancy cars, or big houses, or lots of children, were failures.

Worse, for me, was that his standards of success and failure, they all flew in the face of my hard-earned (and expensive) belief that we don’t judge our insides with other people’s outsides. And as it turned out, hard-earned doesn’t always mean easily kept so there I was crying in my pizza along with him, failure that I was.

Ok, I don’t totally hate the word success because it has some legitimate uses, but I hate using the word “success” to define a person’s place in life, or in contrast, to indirectly label, or imply, someone a failure. And I’m pretty much back to not judging my insides with other people’s outsides.

This is Hank Williams Sr. He used to live above my studio.

We used to startle each other. I’d open my door and he’d be there on a tree a foot away. We’d stop and stare at each other. Then calmly walk our separate ways.

On this day he just leapt onto the screen and stayed there for a couple of minutes while I talked to him.

3/ FYI, I pulled the trigger on the snapshot restore and #OldFriends is back up. Once accounts got cleared of the pg_toast chunks, it was failing in the status table and that would have taken another several days to clean and who knows how many other tables.

3/ FYI, I pulled the trigger on the snapshot restore and #OldFriends is back up. Once accounts got cleared of the pg_toast chunks, it was failing in the status table and that would have taken another several days to clean and who knows how many other tables.
