This article in The Telegraph has more on the Lord’s pitch plan. It didn’t come up in my searches as I have that site blocked in my search engine. A Bluesky reply sent it to me.

There’s this. But not an official site.

I heard on a cricket podcast today that Lord’s had decided to dig up and relay pitches on the square one at a time over the next few years. Starting with the pitch that was used for the England versus New Zealand Test match.
But I can’t find any article confirming that.

The latest episode of Stick To Cricket podcast is out. The video starts with a 10-minute tour of the home changing room and stairwell down to the Long Room at Lord’s. Alistair Cook’s portrait is prominent and on a big canvas.

I still don’t know why they can’t replace a few strips each year and let them bed in for two years or so before using them for lower profile matches before using them for Tests.

Drop-in pitches by 2028 — how we are trying to fix problem at Lord’s - Mark Nicholas, MCC chairman
MCC chairman Mark Nicholas says there is no single, obvious answer to the difficulties experienced in the recent Test and there’s more to it than ‘digging up the square’

Planning meeting next week at Lords to cost out and plan for relaying several of the central wickets in the square over the winter. With an eye to not playing on them in 2027 and possibly 2028. Giving them time to bed in for non-Test cricket in 2029 and then use one for the 2030 Lords Test.

Why does Lord’s cricket ground have an 8 foot slope from one side to the other. And why haven’t they fixed it in the 200 years of playing there?

Despite more revelations about his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Mandelson can't be stripped of his peerage
The PM is calling on the House of Lords to modernise its rules to change this
But given the Lords’ attitude to reforming itself, we’re not going to hold our breath
The PM must take the lead & start FULL SCALE reform of the Lords.
Tinkering around with the disciplinary rules is not enough

And yes, of course I have 🏏 mapped on my keyboard.

“We will grind you down” Tory peers fighting abolition of hereditary peers
Dining in House of #Lords canteen after #Labour came to power, one Labour adviser found themselves sitting opposite two #Tory #peers.
In particular, the pair were fuming about the forthcoming #abolition of #hereditary #peers. Both agreed, the adviser said, that there should be a deliberate strategy to undermine the government on all its legislation

Aide given #peerage by #Starmer campaigned for Scottish #SexOffender
Former Downing Street spin doctor Matthew #Doyle campaigned for Sean Morton after he was charged with possessing indecent images of girls under 15 & couple having sex with a dog
The former #Scottish #Labour councillor was suspended by the party after appearing in court and was charged in December 2016 and later convicted in February 2018.

The #MCC are weird. I entered the ballot to get tickets for the #Pakistan #TestMatch at #Lords. Today I got an email from them to tell me I was unsuccessful, but which also said "there are tickets available, you can buy them if you like". Which makes me wonder why they didn't just allocate me tickets in the ballot. Weirdoes.
So ... I've got tickets. In my favourite part of the ground, the Mound stand, next to the #curry shacks and the #champagne bar. There shall be #quaffing!

Our #ukgovernment has been #corrupt at least since the times of Pepys. Half the ships used for hulks on the thames were rotten though sold as good quality.
#outsourcing corruption then was the same as for #ppi recently
The #corruption will continue to worsen while we have this medieval and #archaic house of #lords. The house of #commons is at least #elected, even though many of the #members are abject liars and are probably worse thieves than dick turpin ever was. #ukpol

This kind of conservatism makes the UK a hard country to love. It's not difficult to understand why so many Scots and a growing number of Welsh want to head for the exit.
>>...they have sought to dismember key elements of the employment legislation, one of the government’s flagship laws. For the third time in a row, the Lords supported a slew of Conservative-backed amendments to weaken workers’ rights. The opponents included dozens of hereditary peers, among them the 9th Duke of Wellington, descendant of the more famous one who battled Napoleon at Waterloo. <<
Not for the first time, I feel warm and wistful about Bonaparte.
