#Panama: "The Mulino administration’s campaign against the Sindicato Único Nacional de Trabajadores de la Industria de la Construcción y Similares (SUNTRACS) intensified. SUNTRACS, the country’s largest construction workers’ union, representing 85,000 members, was threatened with dissolution in July 2025, the latest step in Mulino’s efforts to restrict mass mobilisation, suspend constitutional rights and target striking workers. In October 2025, 17 search and arrest warrants were executed at the homes of union executives and their family members, reflecting the government’s deliberate strategy to intimidate union leadership and destabilise the union."

In #TheIrishTimes, Newton Emerson denounces "#Belfast’s aggressive signage policy". In reality, the only aggression is from #unionists who want the Irish language off their streets.

I would say that is something the #Unionists in NI need to be worrying about instead of saying that United Ireland is not in touching distance.
It isn't, we all know that but they have to get their General Election campaigns going some how!

Speaking of which, #Unionists need to stop using the #RedHand as a symbol. The Red Hand is a very specifically #Gaelic symbol; for Anglos to use it is crass #CulturalAppropiation, and that's actual cultural appropriation, not the kind of bullshit that is stereotypical of Tumblr.

Northern Ireland is changing quicker than most people thought it would. Also, the #Unionists can't quite come to terms with how much they are out of step with society here.
If anyone argues with that, I will direct you to last week #NI election - Sinn Fein are the largest party at the Assembly & local government. AND - they have the largest numbers of cllrs on Belfast City Council, once dominated by Unionism.

It is time for some uncomfortable truths for Unionism - they aren't appealing to the leafy wealthy areas of #NI anymore. Sinn Fein did if you look at where they gained seats last week - eg Balmoral! Plus some Unionists who voted must have given a transfer to them.
So what does that tell them about their current path - Unionism isn't coming out to vote & moderate #Unionists are voting for #Alliance is greater numbers. Why Jeff? #NIpolitics

Scotland's Unionist branch offices were all for the SNP being 'transparent' about its membership numbers yet...
- UNIONIST parties have refused to publish membership figures – despite past calls for “transparency” from their opponents.
Scottish Labour, the Scottish Conservatives and the Scottish LibDems all failed to say how many members they had when approached by The National. -

There is quite a bit of work to be done before that vote is called. We need a white paper from the Irish Government about the way forward. We need citizen assemblies right across the island on the way forward. We can't prepare for unity the way the UK prepared for Brexit.
Harriett, I think you will see a United Ireland. Especially if the #Unionists keep proving to the #middleground, they aren't prepared to make #NI work.

@helvick I agree, he would have delivered quite a speech in #Stormont if it had been sitting. What an image that would have been to send to the world. 25 years after the #GoodFridayAgreement everyone of all shades, sitting together, working together for all. It would have won the #Unionists so much goodwill. But they went down the usual path and said no.
Just confirming what we all know...#Unionism isn't capable of operating in the 21st Century.

And I've said before that if the #unionists want to cause chaos, all they need do is to all nominate as #ScotGovFM which ever of #Yousaf and #Forbes *loses*, because that could split the #SNP block and force onto the SNP a First Minister that the majority in the SNP do not want.
But either way, the majority of folk in Scotland have no say.

For ‘L’anarchie’ and the #individualists around them, syndicalists were wrong to place their efforts in workers, arguing it was wrong for unionists to invest value in the working class, for as long as they remained workers, this had little to do with their realization as individuals. As such unions were held in contempt, maintaining the world as it was constructed by bourgeois reality, therefore #unionists and other working class activists were seen as the unwitting dupes of #capitalism. It’s not hard to see why such ideas would foster resentment from those inside the labour movement, who also suffered persecution from a hostile #bourgeoisie .

If the bùrach of the SNP leadership race is too depressing, the antics of the Labour-Tory-Lib Dem coalition at Edinburgh Council may provide some light relief. That said, Labour voting for compulsory redundancies is no laughing matter.
