Last #backyardProject post of the weekend. The master builder came over and cut up our last piece of plastic. To use in the doors. He’s working on the doors in his shop.
I moved a huge pile of wood and conbined it with the new scraps and also put a whole bunch in the trailer to go to the dump 🥵
But the last part of the pond that had not been trimmed is now trimmed!

I think I am going to try fall pruning my grapes this year. They kind of got out of hand and took over, and it would be good to get them tidied up before winter. Also, I couldn't do a proper job with the winter pruning last year, what with the snow and all. Going to give them a couple more weeks though, I think. Read that it should be done "late fall" and "before first snow", so I'm thinking mid to late October-ish?

Hmm. Fall pruning would also make it WAY easier to tidy up the flower gardens underneath, too.

Don't bin those autumn leaves! 🍂 They're a free superfood for your veg garden. Use them as a winter mulch to suppress weeds, retain moisture & protect your soil. Or, add them to your compost heap to create nutrient-rich "black gold" for a bumper harvest next year.

Just realized I can leave the hose here for filling up the pool pond. Sort of just integrate it into the overflow it'll get covered by grass and stuff eventually anyway. The one in the front yard for the pandemic pod is almost invisible now

Mini farm update: new winter crops (although we're in our October summer here). Broccoli, cauliflower, beets,carrots, radishes,peas,spinach etc. Not sure what to do with kohlrabi, don't think I've ever had it. Strawberries, artichoke & herbs stuck around from last season. #Gardening #EdibleGarden

“Royal burgundy” beans? More like black. 😄
In other news, I ordered 16 new varieties of pepper for next year and another grower wants to trade seeds with me. Someone needs to save me from myself. 😭🤣

starting Sunday off by cleaning the stream in the #pandemicpond. as it has naturalized one of the things that is both a blessing and a curse is moss!
#mosstodonits great but it grows fast this time of year. So i am transplanting to help naturalize the poolpond!
