I've already assumed that my touch pad was broken (or the driver was buggy) because after a tap-and-drag action, the mouse button was not released when releasing the finger from the touch pad.
It was "sticky", e.g. after marking multiple lines of text.
Just found out that this was introduced a while ago in Sway (to follow libinput recommendations):
https://github.com/swaywm/sway/commit/bbadf9b8b10d171a6d5196da7716ea50ee7a6062
Setting "drag_lock disabled" in the touch pad's config fixes this. 😌

In my never-ending quest to accumulate as many bands as possible that remind me of tragically defunct Finnish doom-death legends, Rapture, I crossed paths with Sweden’s two-man project, Soliloquium, back in 2018 through their Contemplations album. It was an entirely pleasant slab of moody, emotive melancholic death borrowing from early Katatonia, Insomnium, and of course, Rapture. It scratched an itch and made me a fan. 2020s Things We Leave Behind hit just as COVID was starting its assault on the world, and the album’s downcast and depressive beauty became a staple in the House of Steel as we watched the world lock down and drift. Somehow, I missed that Soliloquium dropped a new album in 2022, and I almost missed their latest too. Famine is the band’s fifth release, and Stefan Nordström and Jonas Bergkvist are still steering the ship, though this time they invited lots of friends to help out. Can this depressive duo keep the weepy doom-death flowing like fine wine on a cold Swedish day?
Things start out promising on the wide-ranging title track. It’s in the usual Soliloquium modality, with morose clean croons and sparse melancholic guitar plucking giving way to darker tones with guttural death roars and blackened shrieks cropping up. Doomy harominies percolate and fall off, and the mood is kept dark and brooding. The equipoise between melodic trills and the crushing quasi-death-doom is well executed and convincing. Strong hints of October Tide and Swallow the Sun flow freely, and the feel of a brutal winter of discontent is achieved. At the 3:45 point, things seem to end, only to lurch back into what sounds like an entirely new composition, and by the end of the 6:37 runtime, the enterprise ends up feeling long but worthwhile. Far superior is “2 A.M.,” which perfectly encapsulates all that’s right with the Soliloquium sound. It has a lot of Rapture’s best elements blended in, and there’s some beautifully emotional guitar work here in the vein of Tuomas Saukkonen’s Before the Dawn / Black Sun Aeon style. Jari Lindholm (Enshine, ex-Slumber) provides amazing lead guitar work here, elevating the song several degrees, and the nods to Katatonia’s Brave Murder Day era are icing on the depression cake.
Other solid moments include the later era Anathema-esque fragile Goth of “The Healing Process,” where beautiful vocals from Bianca Höllmüller enhance the weepy charms; and the very Ghost Brigade-esque doom rock of “Poison Well,” where Chelsea Rocha-Murphy of Dawn of Ouroboros drops by to keep things despondent with her haunting vocals. I especially enjoy the death n’ roll bit that erupts around the 3-minute mark. “Själamörker” is also quite tasty. Sung in the duo’s native Swedish, Stefan Nordström effectively blends his sadboi cleans and mammoth cookie monster roars on a bulldozer of a tune that hits every doom-death trope. It’s heavy but sorrowful, crushing but melodic. Unfortunately, things go pear-shaped for the album’s final third, where the heavy reliance on clean singing turns out to be ill-conceived. The last 3 tracks all suffer greatly from vocal issues (Stefan’s or his guests) as clean but underpowered, droning, and overly twee vocal tones become prevalent. The songs themselves have good things going for them, but they can’t overcome the vocal shortcomings. At 51 minutes, Famine also suffers from bloat, especially on the final few “troubled” tracks.
While I’ve always appreciated Stefan’s death and blackened vocals, he wasn’t known for his clean singing, usually employing guest singers to do the job. Here, he tries to carry more of the load himself with mixed results. While he’s effective on “The Healing Process,” he too often adopts a static, droning Goth-rock style that feels weak, flat, and entirely lacking in oomph. This derails tracks like “Weight of the Unspoken” and the closing epic “Vigil.” On the plus side, his death roars and blackened rasps are spot on and as effective as ever. His guitar work is always high quality and a reason the material resonates, as he does a good job conveying a bleak, cold atmosphere across Famine, borrowing from all the big names in the genre for some inspired moments.
I’m a fan of what Soliloquium do and there are great moments of melancholic doom here, but the writing isn’t as consistent as before and the vocal shortcomings are sometimes glaring. If Famine stopped at “Själamörker, ” this would be a very good album. It doesn’t, though, and by the final act, the weaknesses begin to show through. Warts and all, Famine is still a worthwhile listen with some big moments. Fans of the sadboi ways should give it a chance and see how it hits them in the feelz. I still miss Rapture.

Damit nichts Wichtiges verloren geht
Also, wie vorgehen?

AmigaOS 4 News – April 2024
Hi everyone,
Thanks for visiting my blog and the AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup. 🙂
Another month has soon passed and May will be upon us. As I write this it is April 30th and I’ve just finished writing the monthly roundup. There was a lot to report this time and it has taken a good amount of time to compile the report. I enjoy it a lot and it is fun to discover and learn about all that is happening in our community. Big thanks to all the developers, users, and enthusiasts who keep the flame burning! 🙂
I’m sure you are eager to check out the news, so without further ado, here is the roundup for April 2024. 😉
Software News
On April 1st, DRIDI released version 2.9z7Final of the Arabic Console Device. According to the author, this version contains better vowel and hamza support inference. More information is available on OS4Depot.
The always-active Kjetil Hvalstrand (LiveForIt) is back with a new release. This time it is a utility called Stackdump. It is a security demonstration tool. It will show you a security risk in a hex dump.
In previous monthly roundups, we’ve read a lot about the FlashMandelNG tool. Dino Papararo and Edgar Schwan are once again back with an update. Version 5 is a bugfix release with added support for benchmark mode in ToolTypes and CLI.
Following the release of Heretic II from Hyperion Entertainment comes a massive pack of multiplayer maps compiled by and uploaded to OS4Depot by TheMagicSN. This pack will be needed to play on PC Heretic II servers to avoid maps are downloaded while playing, which is slow. An installer is included.
Screenshot from the website of Alinea ComputerHe also made an archive called H2_Big_Data which is important for playing Heretic II multiplayer games. This one is about 1.6 GB and is available on Aminet. TheMagicSN writes as follows:
“This archive contains an installer to the custom material (maps, models, etc.) which I was given by Paul Gagnon of H2 Vault. To be able to use the PC multiplayer sites with the Amiga port of Heretic 2 he recommends installing this material.
It comes with an Amiga-friendly installer. It also optionally offers to install a new config.cfg for the Amiga version of Heretic II which adds the multiplayer servers of H2 Vault to the address book of the game. Note that when overwriting your config.cfg you overwrite your Video, Sound, and Controls Options.
This archive has some broken models that could crash Heretic II removed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you already downloaded 1.0.0 you do not need to download this huge archive again. H2_Big_Data_Fix.lha which is only a few Kilobytes in Size contains a script that will delete the faulty models.”
You can download the fix from Aminet:
https://aminet.net/package/game/shoot/H2_Big_Data_Fix
I tried the multiplayer mode in Heretic II during the weekend and it worked fine. 🙂
Open Fodder
Now for news concerning a port of well-known classic that has been ported to AmigaOS 4. Which classic game is that? It is Cannon Fodder and Cannon Fodder 2, and the various specials and demos from cover disks!
Screenshot by PuniCannon Fodder was one of the most popular games on the Amiga. It was also popular on the PC and probably many other platforms. I remember playing it on my Amiga 500 and later 1200 in the 90’s. I still have the original disks in my collection, but it has been a long time since I checked if they worked.
More information about Cannon Fodder can be found at Hall of Light:
https://amiga.abime.net/games/view/cannon-fodder
In short, it is an action strategy game developed by Sensible Software and published by Virgin Interactive. You are in control of a group of soldiers and the goal is to complete the missions you get assigned for. You control the soldiers with your mouse, controlling their movement by clicking around on the map and using the buttons to shoot and customize formation, etc.
Open Fodder is an open-source version of the Cannon Fodder engine for modern operating systems. It supports not only the Amiga version of the games but also the PC ones.
- Cannon Fodder (Amiga, Amiga CD32, DOS CD)
- Cannon Fodder 2 (Amiga, DOS CD)
- Demos (various cover disks from magazines like Amiga Power, The One, Amiga Format, Amiga Action, PC Format, etc.)
Thanks to the porting done by Smarkusg, we can now enjoy Cannon Fodder natively on our AmigaOS 4 systems. 🙂 Here is a link to his Open Fodder GitHub page.
Screenshot by PuniTo start playing, you can download the archive from OS4Depot:
http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=game/action/openfodder.lha
The archive comes bundled with demos you can try, but you’ll need to provide the full version yourself. The files from these must be copied to their appropriate directories in the “OpenFodder/Data/” drawer. You will find one called “Dos_CD”. Here you can copy over the files from the DOS version. The game will then pop up in the menu when you launch Open Fodder.
Screenshot by Puni Screenshot by Puni Screenshot by PuniCannon Fodder is available for purchase from GOG:
https://www.gog.com/en/game/cannon_fodder
I have tried Open Fodder on my Sam460 and also in emulation and it performed very well.
Quake II
Not long ago, Hyperion Entertainment released a new port of Heretic II for AmigaOS 4 by Steffen Häuser a.k.a. TheMagicSN. Häuser has since then been working hard on making various mods available, as well as multiplayer support for the game. Not only that, he’s been working on a new updated port of Quake 2 for AmigaOS 4 as well!
The picture is from the webshop of Alinea ComputerIt is available for purchase at Alinea Computer in Germany. Since it is a download, you’ll get access to it very quickly.
The price is 14.95 EUR.
Here’s the information from Alinea Computer:
Quake 2 is without doubt one of the most famous 3D shooters. Quake 2 was released on the PC by id Software in 1997. In 2002, Hyperion Entertainment released a version for AmigaOS 3.x, based on the GPL source code of the game. Steffen Häuser has now created a new version for AmigaOS 4, which also offers numerous improvements compared to the 4.1 Quake 2 update released a few years ago. In particular, the Quake 2 Mission CDs, which offer countless new levels, are supported for the first time in a native OS4.1 version. Warp3DNova (and MiniGL and software renderers) are also supported natively.
This game, based on the GPL source code, also requires the data files of the PC version, either as a CD or the data of the Steam or Gog Classic version (for the latter two, simply copy them to a directory on your hard drive and select this directory during installation).
Features
- AmigaOS 4 native version
- GL4ES, MiniGL and Software Renderer
- full support for mission CDs “The Reckoning” and “Ground Zero”
- Ports to the unofficial mission CD “Zaero” and to about 50 multiplayer mods will be published on os4depot/Aminet soon, these downloads require the new version of Quake 2
- AmigaInput support
- CD Audio works again (in the old version it only worked with older CD drives)
- As an alternative to CD Audio, Ogg Vorbis files can be played as soundtrack, the music files from this version are already pre-installed during a Steam/Gog install
- Installer now works with PC CD of Quake 2 as well as with the Steam and Gog Classic version, when using the Steam/Gog Classic installer the two mission CDs are installed at the same time. We recommend using the Steam version for easy installation.
- As an alternative to the .cin intros, the game now also supports .avi and .mpeg files (a script to convert the .ogv files of the Steam version is included on the ISO if you want the higher resolution video files)
System requirements
- Software: AmigaOS 4.1 and the data files from Steam, Gog or CD version.
- Hardware: At least 150 MHz PowerPC, 32 MB RAM, graphics card, at least
- 1 GB free hard disc space, A1222 is currently not supported, game can also be played on QEmu and UAE PPC
In connection with the new Quake 2 release, TheMagicSN has ported the unofficial mod Zaero by Team Evolution. Team Evolution gave the full game away some years after the initial release in 1998. Note that you will need the new port of Quake 2 released in 2024 to be installed to play it.
TheMagicSN has uploaded several modpacks for the Quake 2 port to Aminet. As the author states, these packs “(…) contains game modifications for the new AmigaOS 4 version of Quake 2 released in 2024. It does not work with other versions of Quake 2, as they either do not support mods or not AmigaOS 4 native compiled mods.”

Hollywood Designer 7.0
I’ve been a user of Hollywood and Hollywood Designer for quite a few years now. For those unaware, Hollywood is a programming language that supports many different platforms, such as AmigaOS 4, MorphOS, AROS, Windows, Linux, etc. It was created by Airsoft Softwair.
One of many excellent features is that you can compile your source code easily for any of the supported platforms. If you’re on MorphOS, you can compile the source for AmigaOS 4 for example, no problem. 🙂
Hollywood Designer is a great addition to Hollywood since it is a point-and-click tool to create everything from presentations to applications without the need to write a single line of code! There are native versions of the program for AmigaOS 3 (m68k), WarpOS (hybrid m68k/ppc), MorphOS (ppc), AmigaOS 4 (ppc), and AROS (x86).
Screenshot taken from the news release from Airsoft SoftwairOn April 14th this year, version 7 of Hollywood Designer was released. Please read on for the full news release from Airsoft Softwair:
20 years ago, on April 14th 2004, Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, released the very first version of Hollywood Designer, the ultimate multimedia authoring system for Hollywood. In the following years Hollywood Designer quickly became the must-have software for all users seriously interested in creating state-of-the-art multimedia applications, be it presentations, slide shows, games, or applications. Now, 20 years later, Airsoft Softwair is proud to present Hollywood Designer 7.0, an epic update with lots and lots of new features to properly celebrate the 20th birthday of this marvellous piece of software.
Screenshot taken from the news release from Airsoft SoftwairAs already said, Designer 7.0 is a massive update that boasts lots of new features and improvements over the previous version. We do not want to bore you, so here are just some of them:
* Use the full power of Hollywood 10 which was specifically designed for Designer 7!
* Color emojis, CJK text and complex scripts are now supported (using the Pangomonium plugin)
* Multi-selection support for pages and objects in all listviews and the thumbnail viewer
* Operations can be applied to multiple objects and pages at the same time
* Now uses the Hollywood 10 graphics engine for maximum power!
* Objects can be combined into groups
* Many new action events to work with object groups
* Unlimited undo and redo levels
* Executables can also be exported for macOS and Linux arm64
* Support for different font engines
* Graphics can be exported as palette images
* Radically reduced memory footprint, often reduced to just 25% of Designer 6.0!
* Configurable dynamic memory modes
* Custom character spacing support
* Several new example projects are included
* Full support for Hollywood 10’s plugin interface
* Lots of other new features, optimizations and bug fixesThanks to Hollywood, all multimedia applications created using Hollywood Designer can be exported as stand-alone executables for the following systems: AmigaOS 3, AmigaOS 4, WarpOS, MorphOS, AROS, Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. This is a feature that is totally unique in the Amiga world! We would like to emphasize that it is not only suited for personal use, but also for professional commercial customers. Ferrule Media, for instance, have created an info channel containing over 2000 unique slides in a single project with Hollywood Designer. Hollywood Designer was designed to handle these huge projects efficiently so that they can run 24 hours a day and 7 days a week without any visible memory fragmentation! Ferrule Media’s info channel, created with Hollywood Designer, is running in dental clinics all over Norway.
Note that Hollywood Designer is no longer limited to “just” being an authoring software, it can now also be used as a flexible graphics editor because it supports many features of modern graphics editors like multiple layers with over 30 filter effects, vector graphics, image import/export in many formats, and text including support complex scripts such as CJK or right-to-left text and color emojis.
Hollywood Designer 7.0 is available as a CD and a download version. There are native versions of the program for AmigaOS 3 (m68k), WarpOS (hybrid m68k/ppc), MorphOS (ppc), AmigaOS 4 (ppc), and AROS (x86). If you already own a previous version of Hollywood Designer, you can buy a discounted upgrade version. People who bought Hollywood Designer 6.0 in 2024 can request a free upgrade. Also note that Hollywood Designer 7.0 has been specially crafted for Hollywood 10, so Hollywood 10 is absolutely required by Designer 7.0.
Please consider buying Hollywood Designer 7.0 to show your support for our massive Amiga development efforts. Power up your Amiga system with Hollywood 10 & Hollywood Designer 7 and order now!

Sandro Barbagelata has released version 1.0 of Theme List. This utility lists any AmigaOS 4, AROS, or MorphOS themes in a directory. According to the information on OS4Depot, “The program requires a directory to scan for any theme, indifferently it is for OS4 or AROS or MOS. Themes can be mixed, they will recognized and treated consequently. The graphic output can be reviewed on the screen and saved on a file. Rename the executable for your system to “ThemeList” to match it with the info file. Default path can be set via tooltypes.”
Thumbnail Maker is an Arexx script for ArtEffect 4 from Haage & Partner. It uses ffmpeg to generate a series of frames from a selected video and paste them onto a canvas to create a sequence of thumbnails. Data about the video is printed at the top, along with a user-definable string. Version 1.04 contains the following changes:
This is version 1.04.
*New feature*:
You can optionally burn the timecode into each frame. Thanks to Mick JT for helping me figure out the syntax of this command. Time is in the format hh:mm:ss and will appear in the top left hand corner. You can select either white or black text. Note that the non-altivec version of ffmpeg 6.01 has a bug and won’t work with this feature. If you have this version installed you won’t see the option to apply timecode. I recommend updating to the latest version of ffmpeg.
*Bug fix*:
The default file extensions have been overhauled, so by default more video file types are displayed for selection.
*Improvement*:
ffmpeg now does the scaling instead of Art Effect. This makes assembling the final image much faster.
*Improvement*:
The script now looks for ffmpeg in appdir not c, so you can keep your ffmpeg executable anywhere.
*Improvement*:
A few minor code polishes…

AmigaOS 4 Monthly Roundup – December 2025
Introduction
Hi everyone,
Thank you for visiting my blog. 🙂
Another month, another massive amount of news. I’m so impressed by all the work that people are doing on the platform! 🙂 Thanks to all developers for their amazing dedication!
And by the way, if someone tells you in a forum that there is nothing happening on AmigaOS 4 / AmigaOne, and that it is a dead platform, well, please feel free to show them all the roundups on this site, for example those covering the last two-three months. Chances are they will be a extremely surprised… 😉
For the next year, I hope that magazines such as Amiga Addict and Amiga Future will cover more AmigaOS 4 news. There is so much happening on our platform, so I think readers would be interested in reading about new games, programs, and other developments. 🙂 Now with the Mirari gaining traction and clever minds getting AmigaOS 4 to run on it, it will be even more interesting and relevant.
Since the last roundup, I received feedback about the embedded YouTube videos. These are very demanding for the browser, and when there are many of them listed on the same page, it causes problems when you try browsing the blog on an Amiga. Thanks to nbache on Amigans for the feedback here, which is to include image snapshots of the videos, with a direct link to the videos on YouTube instead. This solution has now been implemented, and I hope it helps. 🙂 Also thanks to George Sokianos for suggestions for tools for this purpose.
Without further ado, let’s get cracking with the news!

WHDLoad to E-UAE is a wrapper tool created by Kjetil Hvalstrand. This replaces the native 68k version of WHDLoad. Instead of running it directly on AmigaOS 4, this utility launches E-UAE, then starts up the real 68k WHDLoad inside the emulator, using the included WHDLoad boot disk. Version 3.2 is out now:
https://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=emulation/utility/whdload-to-uae.lha
Domenico Lattanzi has released version 1.0 of Serial Door. According to the author, this is a program that allows to transfer files directly from one computer to another, using a serial connection. It has been designed to work with heterogeneous systems, both equipped with a RS-232 serial port. The mechanism works by launching Serial Door on both computers, connected to each other via serial port (e.g. with a null modem cable), and managing both ends of the communication with just a few settings (essentially, the port to be used and the transfer speed). The mechanism implemented has been designed to be as simple as possible, so is not reserved to advanced users.

Interested in more racing games? If so, I can tempt you with a new pack of such games from HunoPPC. This one contains three titles:
- Screamer 1
- Screamer 2
- Screamer Rally
According to HunoPPC, a good system configuration is required to run the games, which must have the ogles2.library and the warp3dnova libraries installed. Recommended graphics cards are the RX480 8 GB and RX580 8 GB.
This pack does not contain AmigaOS 4 ports, but a setup using DOSBox to run them.
More information is available here:
https://hunoppc.amiga-projects.net/content/screamer-pack-amigaos4
The Amiga Retro Channel is always on the ball, and provides us with a great video here:
The same setup is used for Nitro Racers, which is a video game developed by the Derry-based game studio Torc Interactive and published in Europe by Studio 3DO for the PC. HunoPPC has now made this one available on AmigaOS 4 as well.

Screenshot lent from George SokianosNow for some more gaming-related news! George Sokianos has released an updated version of the OpenGW port to AmigaOS 4. He writes as follows on Ko-fi:
“Now, I am releasing an update because to be honest, I was not happy with the performance, and the MorphOS version turned out to be better.
So, I grabbed their code and applied most of the changes into my port, to speed it up. Many of the changes were about the maths calculations, but the most significant improvement in speed comes from the way the grid is drawn.”
- Added a configuration screen where the different options can be set
- Now the configuration is saved and will be used on every game load

Allkeys is a program by Daniel Westerberg that enables you to use all possible rawkeys on your keyboard. This means that you can use the keys on PC-keyboards that doesn’t have a name yet, like PrtScr/SysRq, Pause/Break, Play, Stop, Previous, Next, Menu, and many more.
Changes in version 2.41 are as follows:
- NEW * Added a switch to let AllKeys ignore the qualifier from the numpad. A bug in OS4 makes the numpad qualifier stick for other multimedia keys if the numpad was the last to be used. (Didn’t test FEu3 yet, maybe it’s fixed.)

Screenshot from an older version by George SokianosIn December last year, George Sokianos released a port of CatacombGL for AmigaOS 4. This year he is back once more with a new version, this time 0.5.7.
Catacomb 3D was originally released for PC back in 1991. It was developed by iD Software, Inc., known for classics like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. It is a first-person fantasy shooter.
The port for AmigaOS 4 requires the original data files, which can be obtained from GOG (Good Old Games):
https://www.gog.com/en/game/catacombs_pack
Mr. Sokianos writes as follows on his Ko-fi page:
“A year ago, I ported to AmigaOS 4 the CatacombGL engine. That was a challenging port for me because it was the first one that I had to fight with endianess. It was not a perfect port, since it still had issues with the music and switching to full-screen, that I needed to resolve at some point. And that time is now.
I am delighted to say that today I released a new version of the port, having the music working fine. To enable the music, go to the menu and select AdLib for the music.
And finally, I included all the latest changes Arno Ansems did in the official repository.”
https://ko-fi.com/post/CatacombGL-0-5-7-release-B0B51PZQ0D
The changes for the new version of the port is as follows:
0.5.7 (2025-12-09)
- Fixed the game music
- Fixed the game being able to be played in full-screen
- Updated to the latest upstream code

Version 1.1.2 of the first person shooter Ubek became available on OS4Depot on December 10th. There, we can read the following:
“Ubek is a remake of a commercial fps game released for classic Amiga in 1995 by Twink Spark Soft. The main idea behind the remake is to make it convenient and pleasing to play on modern systems, while preserving 100% of the original graphics, puzzles and story.
The main programmer, author of the original and remake is Szymon Ulatowski, Marek “Smakrusg” Glogowski helped in porting the game to AmigaOS 4. In addition, musicians Albert Czochara and Remigiusz Kolasa also contributed to the sound design of the Ubek. The game’s beta tester was Rafal Chyla, who also created the icons and helped prepare the documentation.”
Features of the new version include:
- Modern high resolution, 60 fps
- 3D hardware acceleration (using GL4ES)
- Graphics improvements, including a better look for weapons or hero
characters (you can switch to classic mode, which looks like the 1995
original) - New extended music setting and better sfx effects
- Control enhancements – keyboard plus mouse or optional (tooltype option)
gamepad using analog knobs - The location of the level exit is visible on the radar
- Improvements in better weapon range and effectiveness
- Hitting enemies partially visible around corners is now allowed (in the
old version, if the center of an enemy’s body was obscured by a wall, he
was completely immune to hits). - Added safeguards against accidental destruction of critical objects
(e.g., keys) needed to complete a level. - Added option to quickly save and load
- Many other minor fixes and improvements to make gameplay easier and the
game better in general

Screenshot from Amiga Retro Channel’s video (can be found below). We’ve seen many new games appearing on the platform this year, and amongst these is Dark Salvation from HunoPPC. As amiga-news.de reports, “The game Dark Salvation is an originally commercial gothic horror first-person shooter that was released for Windows in 2009 (Wikipedia) and has been available on itch.io since 2017, meanwhile free of charge.”
https://amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2025-12-00047-EN.html
Wikipedia writes as follows:
“Dark Salvation is a gothic horror first-person shooter video game created by the now defunct American developer Mangled Eye Studios, released on July 28, 2009 for Microsoft Windows. The game follows the story of Talia, a young woman whose family is killed in the service of the demon Lucafix. After being trapped in his realm, she becomes possessed by the Spirit Crystal and must use its powers to escape from the underworld.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Salvation
According to the website of HunoPPC, this game is for AmigaOS 4 EGL_wrap, SPE machine and MiniGL. For an SPE machine (A1222), a GPU with minimum 6 TFlops (RX480 with 8 GB works great!) is highly recommended.
The official website of the game is here:

Screenshot by Puni Screenshot by PuniGeorge Sokianos has released version 1.1.0 of Vault. He writes as follows:
“Vault is an application for AmigaOS 4.1 FE that helps users discover useful and well-tested applications for their systems, either if they are native PPC or 68k classic applications. Consider it as an application store, but with the minimal of the features.
Vault retrieves information from IntuitionBase.com and the “Featured software” section. The list of applications is the same.”
Features are as follows:
- List of software grouped in nine different categories
- Download and show a screenshot of each application, as well as information
- Multiple links for the selected applications are listed, opening the equivalent URLs in system browser
- It is possible to download applications.
A great tool, and maybe something for Hyperion Entertainment to consider including in the AmigaOS 4 OS? It would, in my opinion, be a helpful and valuable tool for people new to the platform, but also to others as well. 🙂

The AOS4 fans from Mars have once again travelled to Earth to bring us more software for our AmigaOS 4 setups. 🙂 Not many computer platforms can brag that they have support outside of Earth!
This time, they’ve filled their cargo space with the Flare game engine. Version 1.4 became available on OS4Depot on December 21st.
A list of game modules on the website of Flare – Screenshot by Puni“Flare (Free Libre Action Roleplaying Engine) is a simple game engine built to handle a very specific kind of game: single-player 2D action RPGs. Flare is not a reimplementation of an existing game or engine. It is a tribute to and exploration of the action RPG genre.
Rather than building a very abstract, robust game engine, the goal of this project is to build several real games and harvest an engine from the common, reusable code.”

For the past few days I have been re-watching #Ultraviolet, a #Channel4 production aired in 1998. Although the word is never mentioned, it is about #vampires - so if you do not like the sight of blood, this is not for you!
It is full of famous actors, including #IdrisElba, #JackDavenport, #FionaDolman, #ColetteBrown, #PhilipQuast, #ThomasLockyer & #StephenMoyer. Plus cameos by other well-known actors.
If you are in the UK, it is available to stream via Channel 4:
