Das Duo verbindet Klanglandschaften, elektronische Elemente und atmosphärischen Gesang mit langsamen, epischen Riffs und schleppenden, an einen Trauermarsch erinnernden Percussion-Elementen. Dadurch entsteht eine sich nur langsam bewegende, gewaltige Klangwand, die als Doomgaze, Drone, Ambient Doom und Shoegazer Metal beschrieben wurde. Die Band merkte an, dass sie ihren Musikstil lieber als „Ambient Metal“ oder „Ambient Doom“ bezeichnen, wobei ihnen auch der Begriff „Dreamsludge“ gut gefällt.

Die Heavy-Psych-Doom-Band GRIN etabliert ihre einzigartige Position an der Schnittstelle zwischen modernem Sludge und Stoner-Doom-Metal. Die Intensität der Riffs, die Wucht des Gesangs, die Schwere des Basses und die detailreiche Härte der Produktion machen den Sound aus. Bei jedem GRIN-Album fragt man sich aufs Neue, ob diese Band noch schwerer (oder besser) werden kann – und die Antwort lautet immer: JA!
