Switched out the #RaspberryPi #FLIRC passive cooling case for a #Geekworm armor case, also passive. Wow. Difference in temp is impressive. Running overclocked (overvoltage 4, arm_freq 1900) and idle at ~53°C right now, other case had it at high 60’s. Will be interesting to see how it performs at load. And yes I know active cooling is better. It’s also mechanical, and louder. 🤷🏻♂️

My Quaker meeting is planning an outdoor amphitheatre made of stone. I want to make sure the design uses dry stone #masonry, without any mortar, in part because I understand this provides valuable habitat for #wildlife.
I'm having difficulty finding any resources on this subject targeted at the #USA, however; most sources mention European animals living in walls. I have no doubt the same principles apply in North America, but I'd like local details.
Could you suggest sources?

I yearn to work somewhere with a quarry. Rebuilding a 200 year old sea wall using the same shore stone that made it is great discipline but I dream of stones with flat tops and straight sides, rather than wonky lines and so much time spent on pinning each rock into place.

Received 21.7 tonnes of rocks for dry stone walls, an “amphitheatre”, and other projects in the garden. Wish me luck.
5 more tonnes are missing, but will join the party soon.

A lovely example of a less complex multicellular sheepfold ('buarth' or 'corlan' in Welsh) in the Denbigh Moors yesterday.
The fold is likely 18-19th century and primarily intended for washing. This one has a (probably) slightly later dam with a portal to seal water behind at washing time.

This week on Fern River Club, Bri & Liam come to help with projects around Lena & Carlos' garden and studio, and are surprised to wind up nude for the first time with their friends.
Lovers of social nudity, sexual tension, and that long-anticipated glimpse will be ready for more.

#ThrowBackThursday
Dry stone wall, some 4 meters high, at the Moholt ironworks in #Telemark #Norway. Built early 1800. Abandoned in 1867. Then «lost in the woods» until the end of last century. Belonged to a warehouse for charcoal, with room for 4,000 cubic metres, enough coal for a years production. The work was done by at the time highly paid professionals and was judged to last forever, which – for now – seems true.
