NanoPi NE03 Plus is a tiny, headless single-board PC for $24
The FriendlyELEC NanoPi NE03 Plus is a tiny single-board computer (SBC) that measures 48 x 48mm (1.9″ x 1.9″) and features a 2 GHz Rockchip RK3528A quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor with Mali-450 graphics.
While the little computer isn’t exactly a speed demon, it is cheap. The NanoPi NE03 Plus available now for $24. But while it’s a nice step up from the original NEO03 Plus that launched in […]

wow, my Armbian first boot experience with the FriendlyElec NanoPi M6 was WAY ahead of what I went thru with the M4 - clearly a ton of work has been happening!
here's what I did:
1. write the @armbian image to a microSD.
2. connect all necessary peripherals to the #NanoPi and insert the microSD.
3. turn on the power.that's all. it Just Worked. #Armbian

I'm very happy to announce that thanks to a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, I have in my hands a FriendlyElec NanoPi M6 - in this configuration, a tiny fanless desktop #microPC based on the Rockchip RK3588S processor.
I've had my eye on this device to fill the role of ultraportable desktop PC, especially in the event my laptop ever breaks or is lost/stolen, which would instantly render me unable to work if I didn't have a backup.
because of this generous gift, I'll be able to put the #NanoPi M6 to the test, and answer my top-of-line question: just how usable is this device as a light-duty desktop PC running Linux right now, in 2026? how well is the hardware supported? will I have problems getting work done?
I'm looking forward to having answers to all that and more. be sure to keep an eye on the Peertube channel @surfhosting.cc in the coming weeks and months ... and thank you so much to my donor, you know who you are!

I didn't notice at the time, but a new @armbian release with Debian Trixie as one of the images dropped in August:
https://9to5linux.com/armbian-25-8-released-with-support-for-linux-kernel-6-16-and-debian-trixie
I found this out because I started poking at the #NanoPi M4 at 2am after asking my housemate for access to his media box. I started cutting back my consumption of Youtube sludge a month ago or so (using the #Unhook browser extension), and as a result might start watching some TV again after like 4 years with no TV or cinema. and the NanoPi is in the perfect spot to be a media player.
I probably won't upgrade to Trixie on it unless playback performace of HEVC demands it, I previously spent like 3 days getting the desktop set up how I like, and Armbian recommends a fresh install rather than a Debian style upgrade.

NanoPi R76S is a 2.5 inch router board with dual 2.5 GbE LAN ports, HDMI, and a RK3576 processor
It’s been less than two weeks since FriendlyELEC introduced the NanoPi R3S-LTS as a cheap, tiny router board with a Rokchip RK3566 processor, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and an HDMI port for video output.
Now the company has introduced a new model that’s a tiny bit larger, but significantly more powerful. The NanoPi R76S has a Rockchip RK3576 processor, support for up to 16GB of RAM, dual […]

NanoPi R3S-LTS is a cheap, tiny router board with audio and video output
When FriendlyElec launched the NanoPi R3S last year, the tiny single-board computer was positioned as a router board that packed two Gigabit Ethernet ports and a Rockchip RK3566 processor into a board measuring just 57 x 57mm (2.24″ x 2.24″).
Now the company has added a new model to its lineup that adds a few features the original was missing: including an HDMI 2.0 port for video output, as […]

Sadly our Samsung ML-1665 monochrome laser printer has reached the end of its life, we got it in 2010 which I think is pretty good going.
Ive replaced it with a Brother HL-1112 and connected it to a #nanopi which we had been using as a #CUPS #print server.
But now I've got an old printer, any suggestions of what to do with it? #hack it up perhaps?

I see that #FriendlyElec has come out with a successor to the NanoPi M4 called the NanoPi M6.
https://wiki.friendlyelec.com/wiki/index.php/NanoPi_M6
I saw the #NanoPi M6 when looking at the list of boards with platinum Armbian support.
I set up Armbian and installed #LXQt on the M4 yesterday, which is a substantially slower system than the M6, and it's pretty usable for basic low-complexity desktop stuff. Youtube in Chromium with UBlock Lite is pretty serviceable.
the fact it has Armbian platinum support is a selling point. less lock-in to FriendlyElec's custom Debian/Ubuntu releases. #miniPC

The NanoPi Zero2 is a tiny single-board computer that measures just 49.5 x 4.95 x 29mm (1.95″ x 1.95″ x 1.14″) when placed in an optional case, or just 45 x 45mm (1.77″ x 1.77″) when used without a case.
But it’s a pretty versatile little machine too, with a Rockchip RK3528A quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, up to 2GB of RAM, an eMMC socket and microSD card reader for storage, and an M.2 […]

Hey, #hamradio community. I have a problem with my #DMR hotspot. I’m trying to update the #MMDVM hat’s firmware to get on #M17, but I can’t because the flash chip is locked. No problem, jumper J1 and pull BOOT low.
Well, this isn’t the popular model. This came on a pre-assembled #NanoPi hotspot, it doesn’t have the same jumpers, and I can’t find any solid information about this hat besides several AliExpress listings. Plus, there’s a screen permanently attached to the top. Can anyone help?
