  6. I've had a set of #odroid mc-1 boards for a while waiting for a project I never executed on. Today I finally put them two of them to use as clustered #Technitium DNS servers and cleaned up my previous nameserver configuration. Have full configuration, including zone and record management into #Ansible.

    - U-Boot 2020.10 is required. Check yours with `sudo strings /dev/mmcblk1boot0 | grep "U-Boot 20"`
    - Generic Ubuntu kernels won't boot — missing Exynos4412-specific patches
    - Solution: use hexdump0815's precompiled kernels from github.com/hexdump0815/linux-m release `6.12.12-stb-exy+` tested on U3+
    - Hold generic kernels: `sudo apt-mark hold
    - Remove `flash-kernel` if installed

  16. CW: Odroid HC4: Armbian / Debian Bookworm zu Trixie

    Hat auch nach Standardprozedur geklappt. Die von Nextcloud gewünschten PHP-Module mussten allerdings händisch nachinstalliert werden. Nextcloud war nach dem Upgrade erst einmal nicht erreichbar, das nicht durchgeführte 'a2enconf php8.4-fpm' war das Problem – danach lief wieder alles. 👍

  21. This has been a fun mini-project. I'll improve the cabling, but the solution is complete. A PoE-powered ESP32 device that monitors the UART consoles of a #RaspberryPi 5 and an #odroid H4 Ultra. It also controls two relays (power switches) to the same two devices. Even cooler, I can use ttyd/xterm.js as a front-end on a socat TCP stream, which means I can access the consoles via the web. It’s like a DIY BMC. The two computers are running #alpinelinux and #FreeBSD. Both work without issue.

  22. With a few cheap parts, you can control the power state of an ODROID H4 entirely remotely. As a bonus, you'll be able to say “optocoupler" at parties and sound cool.

  24. Ich habe hier einen #Odroid C2 gefunden, mit 2 eMMC. Auf einer ist #Arch #Linux, soweit, so unspektakulär. Das updated gerade, war sicher über jahre nicht in Betrieb.
    Aber auf der anderen eMMC ist ein #Android drauf. Was zum Henker macht man damit?

  26. It was not a very nice experience by any stretch of the imagination, but after 7 hours of tinkering I was able to install, boot and configure #lineageos 22 on an #odroid c4 as #androidtv. Now I only need a remote working with the infrared sensor on it. Anyone got any ideas?

  28. Last night’s 3D print: a grip for my (@lucy’s?) ODROID-GO Advance! I dusted off the little handheld retro gaming console, flashed a new OS, fixed the joystick, and have been playing it a lot—but the form factor is not the most comfortable.

    damals noch keine Raspis mit vernünftigem NW-Durchsatz gab.

    War für meine bessere Hälfte, und hat problemlos geklappt... auch der #WAF war in Ordnung.
    Soweit ich mich erinnere, kam ich beim Testen auf nen Datendurchsatz von 80MB/s. (mit einer großen Datei, und Windows-Client über SMB)

    Me now: I can't manage to make a booting kernel, it's too hard for me, so many regrets

    (I think I'll try some other configs but I'll give up soon)

  36. Odroid H4+ mini PC I put together for game emulation, music production, and YoIP meetups. It has some of the features of a laptop with an obnoxious form factor making transportation interesting. Also probably doesn't offer any cost savings over a laptop but it was a fun project. Sometimes the brain has a silly idea and I need it to be real 🤣

  37. OK so trying to do an OS dist-update on this board to bring it up from 20.04 has resulted it in unable to boot. Oh well, that was a waste of time. Full reinstall it is then (It'll be a lot faster anyway ...). Multiple links available for it though :eyeroll:

    - ppa.linuxfactory.or.kr/images/ (via wiki.odroid.com/odroid-n2/gett)

  38. @PierreLecourt je viens de me prendre un N97 et un N305. Les deux viennent de chez #Hardkernel\#Odroid
    Le premier a déjà deux port 2,5 Gbps Intel et j'y ai ajouter la carte d'extension ethernet 4 port en Intel aussi I226-V. Ca sera mon routeur pfsense avec VPN, DNS, Antipub, Firewall avec a terme deux réseaux personnels, un réseau invité, un ou deux réseaux externes exposés pour des serveurs web public par exemple.
    Ce sera #pfsense ou #opnsense dessus.
