J'ai pu mettre à jour mon #odroid m1 de Ubuntu 24.04 à 26.06. Au final sans douleur, rien n'a cassé de manière grave et chiante, mais le plus long a été de faire une sauvegarde préalable (parce que je ne peux pas re-brancher son disque m.2 sur ma machine de bureau, et une copie par le réseau ou sur un disque USB prend des heures).

The newly purchased #ODROID H5 is online. I can't recommend this series enough. Perfect balance of low electrical power and high home use capability. For my fellow #FreeBSD fans, everything just works. You do have to use the rge driver in the ports tree for the 10G ethernet port, but I've had zero issues. https://markmcb.com/hardware/

I've had a set of #odroid mc-1 boards for a while waiting for a project I never executed on. Today I finally put them two of them to use as clustered #Technitium DNS servers and cleaned up my previous nameserver configuration. Have full configuration, including zone and record management into #Ansible.

Got my ODROID-U3 (Exynos4412, 2013) running kernel 6.12.12 on Ubuntu 22.04. Key points:
- U-Boot 2020.10 is required. Check yours with `sudo strings /dev/mmcblk1boot0 | grep "U-Boot 20"`
- Generic Ubuntu kernels won't boot — missing Exynos4412-specific patches
- Solution: use hexdump0815's precompiled kernels from https://github.com/hexdump0815/linux-mainline-and-mali-generic-stable-kernel release `6.12.12-stb-exy+` tested on U3+
- Hold generic kernels: `sudo apt-mark hold
- Remove `flash-kernel` if installed

This has been a fun mini-project. I'll improve the cabling, but the solution is complete. A PoE-powered ESP32 device that monitors the UART consoles of a #RaspberryPi 5 and an #odroid H4 Ultra. It also controls two relays (power switches) to the same two devices. Even cooler, I can use ttyd/xterm.js as a front-end on a socat TCP stream, which means I can access the consoles via the web. It’s like a DIY BMC. The two computers are running #alpinelinux and #FreeBSD. Both work without issue.

With a few cheap parts, you can control the power state of an ODROID H4 entirely remotely. As a bonus, you'll be able to say “optocoupler" at parties and sound cool.

I stopped using Raspberry Pi's ever since the RPi Foundation went cray-cray. The last one in service was my Home Assistant controller. It's started hanging, and rather than troubleshoot (who the hell knows where my mini-HDMI cable is), I think it's time to migrate.

It was not a very nice experience by any stretch of the imagination, but after 7 hours of tinkering I was able to install, boot and configure #lineageos 22 on an #odroid c4 as #androidtv. Now I only need a remote working with the infrared sensor on it. Anyone got any ideas?

Last night’s 3D print: a grip for my (@lucy’s?) ODROID-GO Advance! I dusted off the little handheld retro gaming console, flashed a new OS, fixed the joystick, and have been playing it a lot—but the form factor is not the most comfortable.

OK so trying to do an #Ubuntu OS dist-update on this #ODROID board to bring it up from 20.04 has resulted it in unable to boot. Oh well, that was a waste of time. Full reinstall it is then (It'll be a lot faster anyway ...). Multiple links available for it though :eyeroll:

@PierreLecourt je viens de me prendre un N97 et un N305. Les deux viennent de chez #Hardkernel\#Odroid
Le premier a déjà deux port 2,5 Gbps Intel et j'y ai ajouter la carte d'extension ethernet 4 port en Intel aussi I226-V. Ca sera mon routeur pfsense avec VPN, DNS, Antipub, Firewall avec a terme deux réseaux personnels, un réseau invité, un ou deux réseaux externes exposés pour des serveurs web public par exemple.
Ce sera #pfsense ou #opnsense dessus. -
