Oh, you don't need to pass for an #Englishman. For that, you'd have to have #Sting's accent. 🤪

Main thing is to be able to understand, and to be understood. ☝️

Anywayz... No one should criticize non-native #English speakers for not having perfect* English. They should be thankful we're able to communicate with them. Otherwise they can go talk to a wall. 🖐️🤪 #languages

I have been a huge fan and big supporter of self-publishing indie comic creator Adam Lumb pretty much from the moment I started covering comics, cons and creatives as An Englishman In San Diego. What he had dreamt up with THE TIDE was truly original and powerful - the rather simplistic backpage blurb/story summary doesn't cover the massive ideas and complex characterisations inside.

  6. CW: photo editing - advice?

@englishm Youtube has videos where people show how they edit and explain their reasoning.

I'd avoid color grading if you want to represent what you saw. Get white balance right and adjust exposure (whites, blacks, etc) to match what you saw. Use of local adjustments to help.

To make sure you're not taking things too far, Work on developing your eye - look at other peoples photos, movies, tv. Practice editing photos regularly.

  7. From a brief survey of recipes it sounded like the balance of colour (light gold) and cooking enough is a key challenge in making these.

My usual approach for stuff that is new to me is reading a few recipes, then closing the books/sites and jumping in.

I'm pretty comfy w bread techniques, so the dough came together nicely. A fairly ordinary enriched dough (w/ milk, egg, yoghurt)

Hopefully I'm striking that balance of a bit of colour and cooking through enough.
