I need to get Retiled to be much more usable so that there's a real anti-slop Windows Phone-style shell for phones. Inspired by this post, going to try adding support for NetBSD too because of the slop in Linux:

I don't know what to do about the slop in Qt as I said before. Not dropping support for Linux due to the efforts of anti-slop distros like Nura, doing that would also be pointless since that's the main phone distro.

This thing claims it uses Python and QtWidgets, but I found some C files claiming/appearing to be for stuff like the Phone app so I don't know what's up with that (besides this being slop).
I'd say apparently this mess is more appealing to make than helping my efforts on Retiled, but I don't want these sloppers.

You should be able to buy a smartphone for $40 out of contract without invasive ads and tracking and have it be fast and smooth with an SD card slot for extra storage and a halfway-decent camera. In fact, we as a society had this, it was called the Lumia 520.
I think I know why I don't like the Windows 10 Mobile tile spacing: it gives me anxiety since they're too close together.

Mam wielki sentyment do mobilnej windy i bardzo lubię estetykę tego systemu. Urządzenia są obecnie śmiesznie tanie a społeczność jest bardzo aktywna, wciąż powstają nowe aplikacje, jest nawet niezależny sklep (stworzony przez Polaka!). Obecnie na WP 8.1 są takie cuda jak czaty AI, działający YouTube, Discord, projekty nowych przeglądarek a nawet darmowy serwis do streamowania muzyki (wciąż jestem w szoku jak to działa) czy klient Mastodona. Dla mnie jednak najważniejsze są odtwarzacze muzyki (na zmianę foobar2k oraz OneMusic).
Pacjent to Nokia Lumia 630 kupiona na Vintedzie za 30 złotych: malutka, z wymienną baterią, obsługą kart microSD, gniazdem jack i przede wszystkim w moim ukochanym pomarańczowym kolorze. Jeszcze sporo pracy nad biblioteką i nawykami aż zastąpi mi streaming (jeśli w ogóle) ale nawet samo dłubanie i obcowanie z tym telefonem sprawia mi przyjemność i rozrywkę.

This is one of my favorite features of this years #macOS. This reminds me of Continuum on #Windows10 / #WindowsPhone.
It’s even more useful if you have content on your phone but want to resize the screen so it feels more like a macOS app.
I do like how Apple handles this concept: using your phone like this doesn’t need to fully replace the desktop interface or scale it down, it just runs like any other app.

An expensive phone with cheap-feeling plastic used in its construction combined with a half-baked OS version is a really, really bad value proposition. "Oh but the camera is good!" Yeah ok, I don't only buy phones for a camera even though that's a really important part of it for me. Don't forget the speaker being on the back next to the camera and the weird volume button layout for one or both of them.
Windows Phone may have been doomed from the start due to Microslop being out of touch and not trying to do it sooner, but it didn't have to end like that. In the end, it failed because Microslop was out of touch and wanted global market domination instead of just being happy with lots of market share in India and stuff. Not to downplay Scroogle, Snapchat, and telecom carriers' roles that heavily contributed to it.
