The Ultima games are now available to buy from EA (the longstanding owner of the barely-animated corpse of Origin Systems) on Steam.
I won't be buying them.
Since August this year, the majority owners of Electronic Arts have been the Saudi Arabian royal family and government (vis its public investment fund), Affinity Partners (founded by US ruling family member Jared Kushner), and Silver Lake (predatory tech investors known for exactly this kind of dubious leveraged buy-out).
They're all predatory capitalist ghouls, and I know that's par for the course, but between the Saudi PIF and Kushner's firm (also heavily invested in the Israeli arms industry), that's nonetheless a heavier load of institutional homophobia and genocide enabling than I'm comfortable with in my classic games.

While it is cool that EA puts a bunch of retro games on Steam and gives out some free upgrades, please remember:
They killed Bioware.
They are suffering bad PR.
This is an easy good PR move from them.
