Vegans sometimes refer to non-human animals as 'voiceless'. However most animals do vocalize their needs, show agency and resist to oppression. As the Indian human rights activist Arundhati Roy already pointed out, the issue is not that one does not voice their needs, but that they are deliberately silenced or preferably unheard.
