I have noticed more smoking in movies & TV (& that often the actors do not know how to smoke!) but, please... do not smoke tobacco.

On the other hand... Understandable. No leadership to stop fossil fuels/global heating, or oppose war/genocide. Might as well smoke. (I do not use #tobacco !)

EMBRACE LIFE, EMBRACE WISDOM

Embrace Life, Embrace Wisdom 

Some spurn life,

Give me eighty of them years

And then, sayonara

Immortal life would be boring,

They opine,

Maybe sixty would be enough,

Who needs more of that same old song and dance?

Some say life must be examined,

And presumably life must pass,

Otherwise it’s not worth saving.

Others claim existence is absurd,

And they kept on indulging,

Just in case.

The exterminationists we must also mention,

They make it so that others must die,

So they may live,

And they moved history.

Some sneer that they are not falling in love with life, 

Because it comes and goes,

So why doesn’t it go,

Leaving them alone, once and for all?

But wisdom has a question:

What’s so pleasant about disparaging existence?

For sure, tyrannies can make lives unworthy, 

And unexamined lives may bring mayhem…

But maybe contempters of life have it all upside down?

Have they chosen the path to nowhere,

Truth as sour grapes?

A simpler mind is a calmer mind

Life without love sure would be boring,

No love for hope, place, sensation, or anybody?

Mediocre reality 24/7/365 exhausts love…

So why not the truth?

The truth is simple and can be seen all over:

Most of us, most of the time, love life,

And are sorry to see it go with all those we loved?

Why not admit it?

Why do those who spurn life,

Want so much to share with us the perspective

Of short, cruel and brutish lives,

Not worth living?

Do those who spurn life,

Prefer pain, envy, sorrow, regrets, 

Addiction on the road to nowhere?

Some want their grapes sour,

So they don’t have to reach out.

That would be tiring, who needs it?

Some want to reestablish the covenant with their Lord, 

Do they want it dark? They want it darker?

By flinging life away, presumably helping, 

With the tragedy, terminating all,

Why not? 

What is there to lose?

When one already wants to lose it all?

They were going to get the shaft anyway,

They may as well pray for it,

Steal doom and gloom from fate itself,

Brandish them as trophies,

Laughing all the way to the bank of the apocalypse..

Captains of their own destinies,

They crow, and pluff their feathers,

Maybe damned, but at least in command,

Satisfying the intoxicating domination,

That the inner monkey,

Can’t live without..

Short, cruel and brutish lives

One for them, one for you,

Not worth having at all…

We told you so, and they chuckle smugly.

Who needs Wisdom when we can have death?

“Viva la muerte!”, 

They sing the old fascist slogan,

Of the Spanish Civil War.

The craving for annihilation defies all,

It’s all the God they need.

However, Wisdom knows better.

Wisdom sees even the worst individuals,

Use millions of years of cultural evolution, 

Thus sees the murders of goodness,

Implicitly celebrating what they pretend,

To want to destroy.

Those who spurn life rest on Wisdom,

While pretending not to need it.

Like existentialists, 

They open another bottle of champagne,

Claiming not having it would be absurd.

Wisdom knows the Dark Side is a rogue wave,

Sloshing around from time to time,

There to clean the muck.

 . 

Humanity’s Dark Side,

Is just on the side,

What’s needed for dirty and brutal work.

Enlightenment is the other side,

And defines us so much better,

Much more specifically.

All Wisdom sees in those who spurn life,

Is sour grapes masquerading as truth,

When Wisdom sees the Dark Side in command,

Doing what it does best,

Putting humanity in its place,’In the ultimate way,

Killing humanity to save Earth,

Wisdom sees a moment and a passage,

Towards better heavens.. 

To dominate what we need to survive,

We need evermore understanding,

Ever more life.

So if it’s more Wisdom you want 

Demand a longer life,

Demand passions worth living,

Don’t be content just with the guillotine

Of a life not worth examining.

I am (slowly) moving from Debian to Devuan for all the obvious and well-documented problems with systemd. No need to recite that stuff in detail.

Observing that Ubuntu is going all-in on autoslop, and being able to connect the dots and project into the future, moving from Ubuntu to literally anything else (that isn't on the same problematic path) is also pretty darn obvious.

Update on the Trials of Bandung Anarchist Prisoners in Indonesia (Chaos Star Case)

On April 16, 2026, the verdicts were delivered for five of our comrades at the Bandung District Court. The details are as follows:

* Albi: sentenced to 6 months in prison for the Bandung unrest in August–September 2026.

* Pem: sentenced to 9 months in prison for the arson attack on the police post in Gentong, West Java.

* Herdi: sentenced to 9 months in prison for the arson attack on the police post in Gentong, West Java.

* Nopal: sentenced to 1 year in prison for the arson attack on the police post in Gentong, West Java.

* Adit: sentenced to 1 year in prison for the arson attack on the police post in Gentong, West Java.

Also, the first trial of our comrade Dena, also known as Apip or Scoobydoomz, has been postponed and is now scheduled for April 24, 2026.

This trial marks the beginning of proceedings against comrades involved in the arson of Hana Bank during protests against the Indonesian Military Bill in March 2025. Adit, Nopal, and Jalus may face further trials for separate charges.

Note:
Adit and Nopal have already faced two trials on different charges, and the combined sentences they currently face total three years in prison, not including the upcoming verdict for the Hana Bank arson in Bandung.

Gregorius Hugo, also known as Bake or Bex (informant), received only 7 months and 15 days—a sentence that can be considered virtually a free pass due to time already served in police and prosecution custody. This light sentence, despite his key involvement in the Gentong case, confirms his role as an informant/dead fucking snitch and his cooperation with the authorities!
